Abstract

Prodn. of a nonwoven material by hydroentangling a fibre web comprises: (1) metering dry natural and/or synthetic fibres into a dispersion vessel (111), possibly after pre-wetting; (2) dispersing the fibres in a foamable liq. comprising water and a surfactant for forming a foamed fibre dispersion; (3) applying the dispersion to a wire (118) and draining; and (4) directly after the forming, subjecting the fibre web to hydroentangling, wherein the foamable liq., after passing through the wire, is recirculated to the dispersion vessel in a simple closed circuit. Also claimed is the obtd. nonwoven material.
