Abstract

A device for axial displacement of two rail wheels (3) which are non-rotatably attached to a rotatable axle (1), which by means of bearings (5) is mounted in an axle box case (2). The axle box case (2) comprises two axle casings (10) which are arranged axially outside the bearings (5) and through which the ends of the axle (1) extend. The rail wheels (3) are supported in a rotatable and axially displaceable manner by wheel bearing means (22, 23), which are mounted with a sliding fit on the axle casings (10). Exchangeable drivers, which are mounted on the outer ends of the axle (1) and are connected to the rail wheels (3), are arranged to provide the non-rotatable connection between the axle (1) and the rail wheels (3) and to define the displacement positions of the rail wheels (3) on the axle casings (10).
