Abstract

A ventilator for use with a slot-shaped air duct in a building element comprises an elongate border element (3) for such mounting on the building element that it abuts against this and surrounds the opening of the air duct. The ventilator further comprises an elongate cover portion (4), which is movably mounted on the border element (3) to be moved relative to this between a closed position, in which it closes the air duct, and a plurality of different opening positions, in which it keeps the air duct open in various ways and to different degrees. The cover portion (4) has at each end a mounting means which is intended for the movable mounting of the cover portion on the border element (3). The mounting means are designed in such a manner that the cover portion (4) is infinitely variably displaceable relative to the border element (3) between the closed position and a maximum opening position, is turnable about its longitudinal axis and is inclinable about a transverse axis.
