Abstract

This invention concerns a side brush arrangement for front-mounted street sweepers on vehicles consisting of a main brush that is driven by one of the hydraulic functions on the vehicle. The side brush (3) is driven by a hydraulic motor (17), which is controlled by a hydraulic block (18). The side brush (3) is attached on an arm (5), which in turn is pivotally attached via a vertical axle (10) in the street sweeper. A cylinder (11) with a piston (12) is mounted between the pivotal attachment (6) and the arm (5) for lifting / lowering the side brush (3). A tension spring (15) is located between the side brush (3) and a spring attachment (16) which is located above pivotal attachment (6) and the front-mounted street sweeper (1) so that a spring force acting upwards and in towards the street sweeper (1) is obtained to fold the side brush (3) into its position of rest. In this way, we obtain a start and lowering as well as start and raising of the side brush (3) with the same hydraulic function as for the main brush, a procedure for use and a hydraulic system for controlling an side brush arrangement in accordance with the invention.<IMAGE>
