The membrane and the horn can be replaced by a deck of any tool, whereby the end of the tape 8 is attached to the place where the filly is usually attached; thus, sound transmission is improved.

Rotating cylinders can also be made not from iron, but from a suitable magnetic material, for example, from an alloy of regrnaloy (a mixture of 75% Fe and 25% Ni), which has a small hysteresis and is easily magnetized.
