Claims (17)

A sanitary napkin consists of: (a) a central absorbent layer which has a longitudinal extension, a transverse extension, a body-facing side and an underwear-facing side. The underwear-facing side includes a release surface device; and (b) wings which extend laterally from one side of the aforementioned longitudinal extensions of the central absorbent layer. These wings contain fasteners which are positioned in contact with the release surface device to fold the wings onto the underwear-facing side of the central absorbent layer.

How to use a sanitary pad consisting of: (a) The sanitary pad is provided with a central absorbent section having a longitudinal end, a transverse end facing the body, and a side facing the underwear. The side facing the underwear contains the adhesive pathways and the release surface, which is positioned approximately halfway between the transverse end. The pad is further fitted with wings extending laterally from each of the longitudinal ends of the central absorbent section. Each wing contains adhesive pathways. These wings are folded down onto the side facing the underwear of the central absorbent section to release each of the adhesive pathways of the wings into the release surface. (b) The adhesive pathways of the central absorbent section are attached to the underwear.

A sanitary pad shall consist of: (a) a central absorbent layer which has a longitudinal stripe, a transverse stripe, a body-facing side and a surface facing the underwear. The surface facing the underwear shall consist of a pair of adhesive pieces placed near the transverse stripe and a release surface placed between the adhesive pieces. The release surface shall be permanently attached to the surface facing the underwear. The adhesive pieces shall be positioned to make contact with the release surface when the transverse stripe is folded over the surface facing the underwear; and (b) wings which extend laterally from each side of the longitudinal stripe of the central absorbent layer. These wings shall consist of individual adhesive pathways positioned to make contact with the release surface when the wings are folded over the surface facing the underwear of the absorbent layer.
