Abstract

Claims (11)

1. A device for applying an endless strip to an object until the strip encircles it. This type of strip is made by attaching a long strip of material into a loop or ring and by creating a connecting joint. The device consists of a section for stretching the strip in a specific direction, a section that guides the strip along a conveyor path in which the connecting joint is maintained in a controlled direction, and a section that applies the strip until it is suitable for wrapping around the central part of the object. 2. The device described in item 1, which has a section designed to contract and tighten the strip in order to wrap around the object. 3. Equipment as per item 1 or 2 in which the conveying section consists of a series of protruding ear-like devices that change the shape of the strip during conveying. 4. The device according to clauses 1, 2, or 3 also includes a clamping element that holds the strip in a controlled direction during and within the immediate forming of the strip from the loop or hoop, where the clamping element releases the strip as it is conveyed by the conveying element. 5. The method of applying endless conveying strips to the object involves attaching a long strip of material to form a loop or ring and creating connecting joints. Any of the methods described in clauses 5 through 9 where the item is a box containing multiple packages of beverages and where a continuous contact of such strips is applied to each unit of the continuously connected box. 11. An object that is properly fitted with a strap applied to it in accordance with any of the claims in Sections 5 through 10.
