Claims (14)

1. In a system for receiving modulated signals from a combined transmission channel format, the signal represents abbreviated digital data encoded within a group of encoding schemes and a group of modulation schemes. The process involves the following steps: selecting a modulation scheme for demodulation from among the modulation schemes, including QAM and PSK; demodulating the modulated signal according to the selected modulation scheme to generate a demodulated signal; selecting an encoding scheme for decoding from among the group of encoding schemes; and decoding the demodulated signal according to the selected encoding scheme to generate a demodulated signal. 2. The methodology under Claim 1 includes the following steps for selecting a modulation mode for demodulation from among modulation modes including PAM. 3. The method under Claim 1 includes the following steps for selecting an encryption scheme for decryption from among the encrypted schemes, including crack encryption and structured encryption. 4. The method under Claim 1, whereby the procedure for selecting such modulation format includes a step for choosing between a combined format of transmission channels that includes at least two channels from among satellite, cable, and terrestrial channels. 5. The method under Claim 1, where the aforementioned PSK modulation scheme is the QPSK modulation scheme. 6. In a system for receiving modulated signals from a combined channel format, such a signal represents abbreviated digital data encoded within a group of encoding schemes and represents a group of modulation schemes. Such combined channel formats include at least two channels from between satellite, cable, and terrestrial channels. The signal processing equipment consists of a demodulator for selective demodulation of such modulated signals from between modulation schemes including PAM, QAM, and PSK to generate the demodulation signal, and a decoder for selective decoding of such demodulation signals from between encoding schemes including breakthrough encoding and structured encoding to generate the demodulation and decoding signals. 7. Devices under claim 6 where such data is visual information, such as photographic information of a telephone. 8. Devices under claim 6 where each variant of the group of such encryption schemes shall use an encryption rate selected from a group of different encryption rates. 9. An apparatus under claim 6 in which the said decoder and the said demodulator shall operate at a variable clock rate. 10. In a system for receiving modulated signals from a combined channel transmission pattern, such a signal represents abbreviated digital data encoded in a group of encoding patterns and represented in a group of modulation patterns. The method consists of the following steps: selecting a modulation pattern for demodulation from among the group of such modulation patterns; demodulating the modulated signal according to the selected modulation pattern to generate a demodulated signal; selecting an encoding pattern for decoding from among the encoding patterns, including breakthrough and structured encoding patterns; and decoding the demodulated signal according to the selected encoding pattern to generate a demodulated signal. 11. The methodology under Claim 10 includes the following steps for selecting the modulation mode for demodulation from among the modulation modes including QAM and PAM. 12. The method under Claim 11 includes the following steps for selecting the modulation mode for demodulation from among the modulation modes including PAM. 13. The method under Claim 11, where the PSK modulation scheme is QPSK modulation scheme. 14. The method under claim 10, whereby the procedure for selecting such modulation format includes the procedure for choosing between a combined format of transmission channels that includes at least two channels from among satellite, cable, and terrestrial channels.
