This moisture transfer material overlaps the moisture transfer area and extends onto the absorbent and into the central section of the product.

An absorbent product is defined by an anterior waistband, a posterior waistband, and a central section connecting the anterior and posterior waistbands. This product consists of a relatively impermeable vapor barrier back layer of a certain length; a permeable liquid-permeable top layer positioned facing the back layer; an absorbent placed between the back layer and the top layer, with a length less than the length of the back layer; and a moisture transfer area is formed by positioning the absorbent in such a way that at least 5.0 square centimeters of the back layer in at least one section of the product's waistband is not covered by the absorbent, forming a permeable vapor barrier panel in that area of the back layer, where the permeable, relatively liquid-permeable panel has a vapor barrier rate of at least 2,500 g/m²/24h and an area of at least 5.0 square centimeters; and a moisture transfer material placed between the top layer and the back layer, and compression recovery. At least 74 percent wet moisture transfer material is placed over the moisture transfer area and extends onto the absorbent portion and towards the central part of the product.

An absorbent product which defines an anterior waistband, a posterior waistband connecting the anterior and posterior waistbands, and which consists of a back layer, a fluid-permeable top layer, an absorbent placed between the back layer and the top layer and overlapping at least part of the back layer. The absorbent has a length less than the length of the back layer in such a way that a moisture transfer area is formed in at least one section of the waistband where the absorbent does not overlap the back layer, and a moisture transfer material between the top layer and the back layer which has a wet compression recovery of at least approximately 74 percent and which overlaps at least part of the moisture transfer area and extends to the center of the product where the back layer has a greater water vapor transfer capacity in the moisture transfer area than the rest of the back layer.
