Abstract

DC60 (11/06/41) Cosmetic product for the removal of scleroderma (scar tissue) pore-clogging pores. The product is a sealed strip for storage at a humidity level of 2 to 12% in a pouch. The strip consists of a flexible, absorbent sheet with an adhesive polymer mixture attached. The treated mixture initially dries and is not sticky to the touch, but remains dependent on wetting to become viscous and mobile. Application involves either direct moistening of the product or indirect moistening by first wetting the consumer's face in the area where the product is to be applied. Water is then allowed to evaporate from the film to bind to the pore-clogging mass. The film is then peeled off to remove the pore-clogging mass. This product contains a mixture of adhesive polymers that bind the material together. The initially dry, non-sticky mixture remains dependent on wetting to maintain its viscosity and mobility. Application involves either direct moistening of the product or indirect moistening by first wetting the consumer's face in the application area. Water is then allowed to evaporate from the film, causing it to coagulate any clumps or blockages. Finally, the film is peeled off to remove any remaining clumps.

Claims (15)

1. A cosmetic product for the removal of hardened nodules clogging pores in the skin consists of: (A) a strip consisting of: (i) a flexible absorbent pad; and (ii) a mixture of polymers selected from groups of anionic, cationic, nonionic, amphoteric, sweetterionic, and mixtures of these polymers, which adhere to the absorbent pad. The mixture dries non-sticky to the touch after adhesion and is wetted to transform the mixture back into a sticky, mobile substance. (B) a sealed pouch enclosing the strip containing a volatile fluid in an amount ranging from 2 to 12% by weight of the strip. 2. The product under claim 1 is aqueous and present in a quantity of 3 to 10% by weight of the strip. 3. Products under claim number 2 that contain water in the amount of 4 to 8% by weight of the strip. 4. The product under claim 1 has a substrate that is a breathable fabric. 5. Products under claim number 4 where the fabric is rayon. 6. Products under claim 1 where the polymers used for adhesion and substrate are present in a weight ratio from 0.1:1 to 1,000:1. 7. A product under claim 1 in which the polymer content is between 50 and 100% by weight of the adsorbed mixture on the substrate. 8. A product under claim 1 whose polymer is polyvinylpyrrolidone. 9. A product under claim 1 where the polymer is water-soluble. 10. A product under claim 1 in which the polymer is a poly(methyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride) copolymer. 11. A product under claim 1 that exhibits characteristics of mixture movement, with yield points ranging from 1 to 400 Pascals. 12. The method for removing lumps clogging pores in skin pores consists of: (a) the use of a lump-removing product in the form of a strip contained in a sealed pouch. The strip contains a volatile fluid present in an amount of 2 to 12% by weight of the strip and consists of; (i) a flexible absorbent pad; and (ii) a polymer mixture selected from groups of anionic, cationic, nonionic, amphoteric, sweetterionic, and a mixture of these polymers that adhere to the absorbent pad. The mixture dries non-sticky to the touch after adhesion and wetting for replacement. The process involves: b) removing the strip from the sealed pouch; c) wetting the treated area of skin with the wetting agent; d) applying the strip to the area; e) allowing fluid to flow onto the viscous mixture and then evaporate from the area covered by the strip; and f) peeling the strip from the skin, removing any hardened material that had tight contact with the mixture. 13. The method under claim 12 for selecting a fluid from the group consisting of water, alcohol, and mixtures of these substances. 14. Method for the removal of pore-clogging scar tissue from skin pores via the application of a cosmetic product. The product consists of: (1) a strip containing; and (i) a flexible absorbent pad; and (ii) a mixture of polymers selected from groups of anionic, cationic, nonionic, amphoteric, switcher-ionic, and a mixture of these polymers, which adhere to the absorbent pad. The mixture dries non-sticky to the touch after adhesion and is wetted to convert it back into a sticky, mobile substance. The procedure consists of: (a) removing the strip from the pouch; (b) wetting the surface of the strip, converting the mixture into a sticky, mobile substance; (c) applying the wet strip to the area of skin to be treated; and (d) peeling the strip from the skin, removing the pore-clogging scar tissue that has adhered to the mixture. 15.
