Abstract

Improved dental rinsing formula to resist discoloration when stored for a long time. Contains unsaturated aldehyde flavoring agents. Selected from a group consisting of cinnamic, aldehyde and citral and approximately 0.1-5% of (1) terphene or sesquiterphine stabilizer pigments. Show special properties by double bonds. with a group instead of three and choose from a range of limonene-containing and limonene-enriched essential oils such as citrus oils, oxymalte, cariophylline, and sesquither P. cloves, myrcene, their terpene derivatives such as citronellyl acetate, and their mixtures; or (2) propylene glycol, dipore. ropylene glycol and its mixtures in the carriers for toothpaste without oxidizing agents such as peracids and their salts. and maintain the pH below 8.5 and should be slightly acidic to alkaline (about 5-7.5).

Claims (17)

1. A stabilized, anti-yellowing toothpaste formulation containing approximately 0.1-1% by weight of an unsaturated aldehyde odorant (chosen from the cinnamic aldehyde and citral groups, which are the culprits behind long-term storage discoloration) and an excess amount of 5% by weight of propylene glycol or dipropylene glycol for stability and long-term storage resistance. This should be applied in a carrier that is free of oxidizing agents and has a pH that is slightly acidic to alkaline (below 8.5). 2. The toothpaste rinsing agent under this claim 1, in which this discoloration inhibitor is present at approximately 10-45% by weight of the formulation. 3. The toothpaste rinsing agent under this claim 2, the carrier for which this rinsing agent is an aqueous toothpaste cream. 4.
