More specifically, this invention concerns pharmaceutical hormone mixtures characterized by the construction of estrogen-progestogen combinations, either consisting of a single estrogen and a single progestogen, or in the form of a combination with one or more pharmaceutically inert, non-toxic adjuvants, intended for oral administration. Furthermore, this invention relates to the use of estrogen-progestogen combinations, providing both estrogen and progestogen components as a synergistic drug, which may be administered continuously or intermittently, with the aim of achieving the intended therapeutic use for estrogen deficiency, for the prevention of osteoporosis, and for cardiovascular disease in women.
