Abstract

A circuit breaker for earth leakage and/or short circuits and/or similar situations consists of an electrical circuit arrangement with one or two balanced winding transformers. These transformers induce earth leakage current and send this leakage current through a sensitivity setting and control device to a pre-set tripping setting. This leakage current is then amplified to control the tripping process. Another portion of the leakage current induced by the same transformer, or by another transformer, is also amplified and displayed as an earth leakage current indicator, typically using five LED lights or a digital display in milliamperes.

Claims (2)

1. A circuit breaker for earth leakage and/or short circuits and/or similar situations, consisting of an electrical circuit arrangement with one balanced winding transformer; it induces earth leakage current and sends this current through a sensitivity setting and controls the circuit breaker to a predetermined setting, and then amplifies this current to control the circuit breaker. It then induces earth leakage current and amplifies it again, sending this current to display the earth leakage current value on a ground leakage current indicator using 5 LED lights, each using 5 milliamperes of current. 2. Circuit breakers for earth leakage and/or short circuits, and/or similar situations, consisting of a circuit arrangement with two balanced winding transformers: a first-voltage transformer induces earth leakage current and sends this current through a sensitivity setting and control device to control the circuit breaker according to a predetermined setting, and then amplifies this current to control the circuit breaker tripping; a second-voltage transformer induces earth leakage current and sends this current to display the earth leakage current value digitally in milliamperes.
