Claims

1. The components of a skin cosmetic product consist of (i) a randomly arranged copolymer with ethylene oxide and propylene oxide as monomers from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight, having an average molecular weight of at least 1,000 D and containing 70 percent by weight of propylene oxide units of the copolymer; (ii) a weak carboxylic acid from 0.01 to 20 percent by weight with a pKa higher than 2; and (iii) a cosmetic-acceptable medium.

2. The composition of the product under claim 1 herein, the polypropylene oxide copolymer content is from 25 percent to 50 percent.

3. The composition of the product under claim 1 herein, the average molecular weight of the copolymer is from approximately 1000 D to approximately 12,000 D.

4. The product components under Claim 1 herein are: an oil-in-water emulsion.

5. The pH of the product components as per claim 1 is in the range of 3 to 5.

6. Methods for reducing skin irritation, itching, and burning sensations include the application of randomly arranged copolymers, ethylene oxide, and propylene oxide in a cosmetic-grade absorbable medium.
