Abstract

DC60 Absorbent garments, such as diapers, are folded in a way that prevents the leg bands from remaining folded inward in the crotch area during use. Each edge from the number of opposite far edges cross-section in the back waist area and each edge from the number of opposite far edges cross-section in the front waist area are folded onto the surface of the garment along each longitudinal fold line. The garment is also folded along at least one cross-sectional fold line. The distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the back waist area may be greater than the distance between the opposite far leg bands cross-section in the crotch area of the garment. The distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the back area may be less than the sum of the distance between each opposite far edge cross-section of the back waist area and each of the aforementioned longitudinal fold lines. Claims (20)

1. An open, folded absorbent garment consisting of an absorbent chassis with defined longitudinal folds extending from the front waist area to the back waist area, with each edge from the number of opposite farthest edges cross-sectionally of the back waist area folded onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold line, and each edge from the number of opposite farthest edges cross-sectionally of the front waist area folded onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold line, and the absorbent chassis folded along at least one cross-sectional fold line, where the distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the back waist area is less than the total distance between each edge from the number of opposite farthest edges cross-sectionally of the back waist area and each longitudinal fold line. 2. An open, folded absorbent garment consisting of an absorbent chassis with defined waist and leg openings (first and second when fixed), a longitudinal absorbent chassis extending from the front waist area to the back waist area, with each edge from the opposite farthest number of cross-sections of the back waist area folded onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold, and each edge from the opposite farthest number of cross-sections of the front waist area folded onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold, and an absorbent chassis folded along at least one cross-sectional fold, with such an absorbent chassis having a stretchable leg-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.35 or less, with the stretchable leg-to-waist ratio being the narrowest distance between opposite leg elastic bands cross-sectionally in the crotch area. The chassis absorbent material is divided by the sum of the expanded widths of the chassis, with the absorbent material between the opposite distal edges, cross-sectioned in the rear lumbar region. 3. An open, folded absorbent garment consisting of an absorbent chassis that defines the waist opening and the first and second leg openings when in the fixed position; an absorbent chassis with a longitudinal length extending from the front waist area to the back waist area, with each edge from the number of opposite far edges cross-sectionally crossing the edges of the back waist area folded onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold line; and each edge from the number of opposite far edges cross-sectionally crossing the edges of the front waist area folded onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold line; and an absorbent chassis folded along at least one cross-sectional fold line, with such an absorbent chassis having a leg-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.55 or less, with the leg-to-waist ratio being the narrowest distance between the opposite far edges cross-sectionally in the crotch area of the absorbent chassis divided by the expanded width of the absorbent chassis between the opposite far edges. They cross each other by cutting across the posterior lumbar region. 4. An open, folded absorbent garment consisting of an absorbent chassis designated as the first and second waist and leg openings when in the fixed position. This absorbent chassis comprises an absorbent core positioned between the outer shell and the side lining, extending longitudinally from the front waist area to the back waist area onto the chassis surface along each longitudinal fold and each of the number of opposite distal edges cross-sectionally of the front waist area folded onto the chassis surface along each longitudinal fold and at least one cross-sectional fold. This absorbent chassis has an absorbent-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.47 or less, with the absorbent-to-waist ratio being the widest width between the opposite distal edges cross-sectionally of the back waist area. 5. Absorbent garments folded according to one of the aforementioned claims, in which the absorbent chassis has a stretchable leg-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.35 or less, with a stretchable leg-to-waist ratio that is the narrowest distance between two opposing cross-sectional leg stretch bands in the crotch area of the absorbent chassis divided by the expanded width of the absorbent chassis between the opposing distal edges of the posterior waist area. 6. Absorbent garments folded according to claim 5, in which the absorbent chassis has a leg-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.3 or less, or approximately 0.25 or less, or approximately 0.15 or less. 7. Absorbent garments folded according to one of the aforementioned claims, in which the absorbent chassis has a crotch-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.55 or less, with the crotch-to-waist ratio being the narrowest distance between opposite distal edges cross-sectionally in the crotch area of the absorbent chassis divided by the expanded width of the absorbent chassis between opposite distal edges cross-sectionally in the posterior waist area. 8. Absorbent garments folded in accordance with claim 7, in which the absorbent chassis has a leg-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.45 or less, or approximately 0.35 or less, or approximately 0.25 or less. 9. Absorbent garments folded according to one of the aforementioned claims, in which the absorbent chassis consists of an absorbent core positioned between the outer covering and the side lining, and the absorbent chassis has an absorbent-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.47 or less, with the absorbent-to-waist ratio being the widest width of the absorbent core divided by the expanded width of the absorbent chassis between the opposite distal edges by cross-section of the posterior waist area. 10. Absorbent garments folded in accordance with claim 9, where the absorbent chassis has an absorbent-to-waist ratio of approximately 0.42 or less, or approximately 0.37 or less, or approximately 0.27 or less. 11. Absorbent garments folded according to one of the above-mentioned claims, where the distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the posterior waist area is greater than the distance between the opposing leg elastic bands in the crotch area of the absorbent chassis. 12. Absorbent clothing folded according to any of the above-mentioned claims, where the distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the posterior waist area is greater than the distance between the opposite distal edges crossing in the crotch area of the absorbent chassis. 13. Absorbent garments folded according to one of the aforementioned claims, which do not have a longitudinal fold line in the absorbent chassis between opposite leg elastic bands, cross-sectioned in the narrowest width of the crotch area of the absorbent chassis. 14. Absorbent garments folded in accordance with one of the preceding claims, in which the absorbent material is folded along at least one transverse fold line and in such manner aligned directly at the front waist and the back waist. 15. Absorbent garments folded according to one of the above-mentioned claims, where the distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the posterior waist area is greater than the narrowest distance between two opposing transverse elastic leg bands in the crotch area of the absorbent chassis. 16. Absorbent clothing folded according to one of the above-mentioned claims, where the longitudinal fold in the back waist area is continuous with the longitudinal fold in the front waist area. 17. Absorbent clothing folded in accordance with one of the above-mentioned claims, where the parts of the distal opposite edges, cross-section of the crotch area, are not folded onto the surface of an absorbent chassis surface. 18. Absorbent clothing folded in accordance with one of the above-mentioned claims, where the distal edges opposite each other, cross-sectionally of the posterior waist area, overlap on the surface of the absorbent chassis. 19. Absorbent clothing folded in accordance with any of the above-mentioned claims, where such clothing is packaged in the folded position. 20. Any method of folding the open absorbent garment under any of the above-mentioned claims shall consist of: the preparation of an absorbent chassis with a longitudinal length extending from the front waist area to the back waist area; folding each edge from a number of opposite distal edges cross-sectionally of the back waist area onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold line; folding each edge from a number of opposite distal edges cross-sectionally of the back waist area onto the surface of the absorbent chassis along each longitudinal fold line such that the distance between the longitudinal fold lines in the back waist area is greater than the distance between the opposite leg elastic bands cross-sectionally in the crotch area of the said absorbent chassis; and folding the said absorbent chassis along at least one cross-sectional fold line.
