Abstract

DC60 (February 21, 2012) This feed and hormone mixer for tilapia sex reversal consists of a two-tiered structure made of box-shaped forged steel. The lower inner structure serves as the base for the electric motor and gear set, which power the shaft driving the impeller for stirring the mixture in the upper section. The sides of the lower structure are enclosed with metal plates on all four sides. One side of this enclosed structure houses a rectangular clear plastic tank for containing the hormones used for sex reversal. A small water pump is installed at the bottom of this tank, connected by a clear hose for drawing hormones from the tank and spraying them onto the tilapia feed mixture while the stirring impeller in the upper mixing tank is operating. The upper structure houses the electrical control system and serves as a platform for the tank containing the tilapia feed mixture. The upper tank has a lid with two small holes on the back, used for inserting the clear hose connected to the pump for hormone injection. The tilapia fry feed mixture is sprayed onto the feed while being mixed. At the end of the clear hose, brass nozzles with adjustable spray patterns are installed. These nozzles are bolted to the tank lid, which has rectangular holes covered with a transparent plastic sheet for viewing the mixture while the agitator is operating. 1. The food and hormone mixing machine for tilapia sex reversal consists of: - A two-layer frame (1) made of square-shaped steel. On one side of the lower layer of the frame (1) is installed a clear plastic tank (14) used for holding hormones, and a small water pump (16) is installed on the underside of the plastic tank (14), and a clear hose (15) is connected from the small pump (16) to draw hormones from the clear plastic tank (14) to be sprayed onto the tilapia feed mixture while in use. - A mixing tank (5) installed on the upper layer of the frame (1), which has a special feature: on top of the mixing tank (5) there is a lid for opening and closing (7) made of molded steel. Two small holes (18) are drilled in the back of the lid to serve as openings for the clear tubing (15) which is connected to a small water pump (16) to draw hormones from the clear plastic tank (14) to be sprayed onto the tilapia feed mixture inside the mixing tank (5). At the end of the clear tubing (15), a brass spray nozzle is installed, which is bolted to the lid (7).
