Claims

1. A rapid oxidative hair dyeing or bleaching method, lasting less than 20 minutes, involves the following steps: i) preparing a mixture containing at least one peroxymonocarbonate ion source and at least one alkaline agent, resulting in a high pH, up to 9.5; ii) applying the mixture to the hair and leaving it on for a period of less than approximately 20 minutes; and iii) rinsing the mixture from the hair.

2. Sequential oxidizing hair dyeing or bleaching methods consist of the following steps: the preparation of a mixture containing i) at least one peroxymonocarbonate ion source and ii) at least one alkaline source, resulting in a pH below 9.5; application of the mixture to the hair, retention for periods of less than 20 minutes; and subsequent rinsing.

3. A method of dyeing or bleaching hair pursuant to either claim 1 or 2, which is further comprising a first pretreatment step in which a pretreatment mixture containing at least one conditioning agent is applied to the hair.

4. Methods of hair dyeing or bleaching according to claim 3 where the mixture for the procedure is not washed out of the hair before the next procedure.

5. A method of hair dyeing or bleaching under either claim 1 or 2 where the mixture is retained on the hair for a period of less than approximately 15 minutes, ideally between 5 and 10 minutes.

6. Methods of hair dyeing or bleaching under either claim 1 or 2 where the source of such peroxymonocarbonate ions consists of at least one source of hydrogen peroxide and at least one source of carbonate, carbamate and/or hydrogen carbonate ions and a mixture of these substances.
