(B) is a polyepoxy compound containing two or more epoxy groups in its molecule and has an average molecular weight of 1,000 - 30,000, and (D) is a polyepoxy compound containing two or more epoxy groups in its molecule and has an average molecular weight less than 1,000, provided that there is no combination of (B) and (D), and it also contains a monoalkylstannate as a catalyst to aid in hardening, which is very useful in coil coatings.

Claims

1. Heat-curing resin compositions for use in coatings shall consist of (1) at least one polycarboxylic acid component selected from the following compositions: (A) resins containing two or more carboxyl groups in the molecule and an average molecular weight of 1,000 - 30,000 and (B) polycarboxylic acids containing two or more carboxyl groups in the molecule and an average molecular weight less than 1,000 and (2) at least one polyepoxy component selected from the following compositions: (C) epoxy resins containing two or more epoxy groups in the molecule and an average molecular weight of 1,000-30,000 and (D) polyepoxy compounds containing two or more epoxy groups in the molecule. and has an average molecular weight of less than 1,000, provided that there is no combination of (B) and (D), and also contains a monoalkylstannate as a catalyst to aid in solidification.

2. The component referred to in Claim 1, where the monoalkyl stannate is monobutyl stannate, is a monobutyl stannate.

3. Powders used in coatings whose main component is a resin containing two or more carboxyl groups in its molecule and an average molecular weight of 1,000 - 30,000; polyepoxy compounds containing two or more epoxy groups in their molecule and an average molecular weight less than 1,000; and monoalkylstannates (3 claims, 1 page, - image).
