Söz konusu formülde, R1 C8-18-alkil grup veya istege bagli olarak benzil grup konumunda, R2 C8-18-alkil grup, R3 C-1-4-alkil grup veya-[CH2-CH2-O]n-H formülünün bir grubu, R4 C1-4-alkil grup, n 0.5'den 8'e kadar bir sayi, tercihen 1'den 5'e kadar bir sayi, ve A-2'den 12'e kadar C atomu içeren bir organik karboksilik asidin anyonu olmaktadir ve en az bir hidroksil, amino veya sülfonik asit grubu barindirmaktadir. Bulusa uygun ahsap koruyucular basinç kullanilmadan ahsap derinliklerine nüfus etmekte, ve metaller üzerinde orta siddette paslandirici etkisi bulunmaktadir.
