Abstract
Bir denizde yasayan hayvanlarin yem bilesimi, mikrobik olarak elde edilen arakidonik asit(ARA) veya trigliserit biçiminde ARA içeren bilesimlerle tanimlanir. yem bilesiginin kendisi mikrobik hücrelerden bagimsiz olmasina karsin, ARA uygun biçimde Mortierella türü gibi bir mantardan elde edilir. Bu ARA biçimlerinin, balik yagindan elde edilen ARA'nin ilgili fosfolipit biçimlerine göre deniz organizmalarinin (karides ve balik) daha iyi pigmentasyonunu (hücrelerin renkli madde olusturmasi) ve gelismesini sagladigi ortaya çikmistir. ARA, örnegin su içinde bir yag emülsiyonu gibi bir yag biçiminde olabilir veya daha büyük organizmalar için ''canli'' yem olarak bilesimin içinde bulunan larvaya, rotatora veya nauplii'ye verilebilir.
