Abstract

The coating has a thickness of at least 500 Angstroms to limit sodium ion poisoning to a portion of the substrate facing coating. Alternatively, a sodium ion inhibiting layer is deposited onto the substrate prior to deposition of the photocatalytically activated self-cleaning coating to prevent poisoning of the photocatalytically activated self-cleaning coating with sodium ion. Substrate includes glass substrates including glass sheet and continuous floating glass ribbon.
