A steel box in which wood material (including but not limited to wood chips, wood shavings or wood dust) is placed. The box is then placed on a bbq, grill, stove top, open fire or other hot cooking surface until the wood material heats up and emits smoked which is then used to flavour food that is cooked in proximity to the box. The box has holes in the lid to let the smoke out. The box differs from anything pre-existing in that it takes up less space on the cooking surface, has unique dimensions that are convenient for its purpose, and the holes are styled into the letters "SHB".
