Abstract
A submerged nozzle (3) for pouring molten steel into the charging region of a continuous casting mould (4) consists of a tube part connected to a casting vessel (2) and of an end part provided with a bottom piece (12). To create an operationally reliable submerged nozzle (3) with better flow distribution, the bottom piece (12) has a smaller width in the direction of the outflow openings (11) than the spacing of the walls forming the upper boundary of the outflow openings (11). <IMAGE>
