Abstract

This invention provides a method for producing polycarbonate powder, by which the polycarbonate powder advantageous for treatments such as pelletization and dryness can efficiently be recovered from a polycarbonate solution obtained by an interfacial polycondensation method at an advantageous cost. This method for producing the polycarbonate powder is characterized by partially evaporating off the solvent of a polycarbonate solution to prepare the powder leaving the solvent in an amount of 10 to 70 mass% based on the dry powder and then pulverizing the obtained powder in a gas flow having a flow speed of 0.6 to 30 m/sec, when the polycarbonate is recovered from the polycarbonate solution.
