Abstract
The invention provides a gear pump, it can be used in transferring high-pressure and high-viscosity fluids, for example: melted resin. In the gear pump 100, the fluids are transported from the suction port 11 to the discharge port 12 by rotation of the gears 2, 3. The gears 2, 3 are disposed inside the casing 1 and engaged each other. The gears 2, 3 are double-helical gears that have one-point continuous contact tooth profile. For the gears 2, 3, the ratio D/B of the gear diameter D and the gear width B is 1.1 to 1.15. When D/B is smaller than 1.1, the bearing may be hurt because of too big load, and it is unsuitable for transporting B. On the other hand, when D/B is larger than 1.15, in accordance with the increase in the overall size of the external dimensions, the mechanical efficiency is reduced, and the total efficiency is also reduced.
