Abstract

A laser power source apparatus is disclosed in this invention which supplies ignition voltage, impulse voltage, continuous DC voltage or high frequency voltage, interrupted DC voltage or high frequency voltage for exciter lasers, dye lasers, lasers those are constructed according to gas discharge basic principles or solid state laser basic principles, discharge tube lamps or backlighting LEDs for illumination and back lighting. Electronic ballasts supply the high frequency power source or power switches such that a circuit stable, high efficiency, high power factor and high quality laser power source is achieved. A DC/AC high voltage supplying circuit is adapted in this invention for converting high frequency power source to high DC voltage or coupling directly to a laser load supplying high frequency and high voltage power. A feedback and protection circuit is also adapted for over current and over voltage protection of the load and achieving a constant current or constant voltage power supply for the laser load. An external and internal control circuit is further adapted for regulating the power demand of the laser load.
