Abstract

A low-density alloy for making a golf club head substantially comprises 84wt%-94wt% of Ti, 6.5wt%-9.5wt% (or 5.5wt%-8.5wt%) of Al, and V less than 1.5wt% (or less than 3.0wt%) to form a Ti-Al-V-based alloy. The Ti-Al-V-based alloy is selectively added at least one trace element selected from the group consisting of Mo, Cr, Fe, Is, and B. The Ti-Al-V-based alloy has a low-density of 4.4g/cm3 so as to possess a combination of low weight and high extension of mechanical properties.
