Abstract

This invention provides an automatic inspection device for inspecting an elevator which can be made at low cost and is capable of accurately detecting an abnormal operation. An elevator cage 2 and a counter weight 3 are supended by a main rope 8 passing over a driving sheave 7. A balance device 11 for detecting the load on the cage 2 as a detected load is carried on the cage 2. The rotation torque of the driving sheave 7 is detected by measuring the torque current of winch 4 by a torque detection device 12. Information detected by the balance device 11 and the torque detection device 12 is respectively inputted in a judegement device 14 which computes the load on cage 2 as a computed load based on the information from the torque detection device. As a result whether or not an abnormal operation is present is judged by the judegement device 14 comparing the computed load and the detected load.
