Abstract
本發明揭露一種無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,包括由式(I)之丙烯酸單體以及式(II)之含磷單體所形成的共聚物,其中,R1係氫或甲基,R2係氫、烷基、酯基、烷酯基、芳基、或雜芳基,R3係氫或甲基,X係(CH2)x,x=1-11之整數、(CH2CH2O)y,y=1-5之整數、或(CH2)zO,z=2-10之整數,以及n=1-2,其中n係整數或非整數。
Description
本發明係有關於一種壓克力樹脂,且特別是有關於一種含磷之無鹵難燃壓克力共聚物樹脂。
一般壓克力樹脂具有高透光度、高耐候性、高硬度、容易加工成型等優於其他樹脂之特性,因此能夠廣泛地使用於各類領域,包括建材、電器用品、傢俱、交通工具、裝潢展示等等。然而,壓克力樹脂具有較高的易燃性,容易點燃而起火,並迅速蔓延擴大,導致更嚴重的災害;此外,壓克力燃燒所排放的單體亦具有毒性。如此缺點限制了具有防火安全性顧慮之應用發展。
考慮到前述問題,壓克力樹脂阻燃一般涉及難燃劑的添加,或阻燃性單體的共聚合反應。難燃劑(flame retardant)可分為無機型與有機型兩大類,其中無機型通常需要較高的添加量以達到難燃效果,然而,當添加量過高時,反而會造成樹脂物性的降低,而有機型主要為鹵素系與磷系兩種,其中鹵素系難燃劑燃燒時會產生鹵化氫及戴奧辛氣體與大量煙霧,對人體及環境造成危害,世界各國漸立法限制鹵素難燃劑的使用,因此目前有機型難燃劑以磷系難燃劑為發展主軸。但由於磷系難燃劑的異質性及經常內含柔軟的長碳鏈段使得摻入或共聚磷系難燃劑往往導致壓克力樹脂之機械強度、透光度以及耐熱性降低。
因此,目前亟需解決先前技術無法克服之技術難題,
針對壓克力樹脂難燃機能進行開發,特別是能夠同時維持壓克力樹脂原本的高透光度,並提升其耐熱性,以衍生出先前技術不易達到的功能與應用。
本發明提供一種無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,包括由式(I)之丙烯酸單體以及式(II)之含磷單體所形成的共聚物:
其中,R1係氫或甲基,R2係氫、烷基、酯基、烷酯基、芳基、或雜芳基,R3係氫或甲基,X係(CH2)x,x=1-11之整數、(CH2CH2O)y,y=1-5之整數、或(CH2)zO,z=2-10之整數,以及n=1-2,其中n係整數或非整數。
本發明亦提供一種依據本發明之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂所成形的物件。
為讓本發明之上述和其他目的、特徵、和優點能更明顯易懂,下文特舉出較佳實施例,並配合所附圖式,作詳
細說明如下:
本說明書全文中所提及關於”一實施例”的意思是指有關於本實施例中所提及特定的特徵(feature)、結構、或特色係包含於本發明的至少一實施例中。因此,本說明書全文中各處所出現的”在一實施例中”用語所指的並不全然表示為相同的實施例。再者,特定的特徵、結構、或特色能以任何適當方式而與一或多個實施例作結合。
一般的壓克力樹脂,在溫度接近熱裂解溫度或燃燒時,容易因斷鍵或燃燒而產生各種自由基,例如氫自由基(H.)或氫氧自由基(OH.),自由基將連鎖性地攻擊壓克力樹脂而引發連鎖性裂解,因而造成持續燃燒的現象,破壞結構的完整性,此即壓克力樹脂的低阻燃性。而習知的難燃性壓克力樹脂或壓克力樹脂複合材料之結構易受熱而軟化,無法提供良好的耐熱效果或透光性。因此,本發明透過將壓克力樹脂共聚合含磷單體而形成含磷壓克力樹脂複合材料以改善上述問題以提高難燃性並同時維持透光度、提昇耐熱性。
本發明提供一種由下列式(I)之丙烯酸單體與式(II)之含磷單體所形成之壓克力樹脂。在一實施例中,丙烯酸單
體之化學式如式(I),其中,R1官能基
包括氫(H)或甲基(CH3);R2可以為氫、烷基、酯基、烷酯基、芳基、或雜芳基。上述烷基可包含C1-C6之直鏈、支鏈、或環狀烷基,例如:甲基、乙基、正丙基、異丙基、正丁基、第二丁基、第三丁基、正戊基、正己基、環丙基、環戊基、環丁基、環己基、環庚基、環辛基、或其他合宜之烷基。上述酯基可包括C1-C6之酯基,例如硫酸酯基、硫醇酯基、磷酸酯基、碳酸酯基、羥酯基、羧酸酯基、聚氨酯基、乙烯酯基、氨基甲酸酯基、或其他合宜之酯基。上述烷酯基可包括C1-C6之烷酯基,例如甲酯基、乙酯基、正丙酯基、異丙酯基、第三丁酯基、或其他合宜之烷酯基。上述芳基可包括C6-C14之芳基,例如萘基、苯基、苄基、或其他合宜之芳基。上述雜芳基可包括4-15員的含N、O、S等雜原子的芳香基,例如吡啶基、吡嗪基、嘧啶基、嗒嗪基、吡唑基、吲哚基、喹啉基、異喹啉基、呋喃基、噁唑基、噻唑基、噻吩基、或其他合宜之雜芳基。丙烯酸單體的具體實例則可包括丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸辛酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸乙酯、甲基丙烯酸環烷酯、甲基丙烯酸羥基乙酯、甲基丙烯酸縮水甘油酯、甲基丙烯酸芳酯、甲基丙烯酸苯甲酯、丙烯酸-2-乙基己酯、乙氧基乙基丙烯酸酯、氰基丙烯酸乙酯、或其他合宜之丙烯酸單體。
適合本發明的含磷單體具有碳-碳雙鍵、及可形成氫鍵的磷酸基團如下:
。在一實施
例中,n係介於1-2之間的整數與非整數,其中非整數表示兩種以上的含磷單體混合,表(1)列舉一些含磷單體的具體實例,其中R3官能基可為氫或甲基;以及X官能基可包括:x為1-11之(CH2)x,更例如1-3之範圍、y為1-5之(CH2CH2O)y,更例如1-2之範圍、或z為2-11之(CH2)zO,更例如2-4之範圍等等。在一些實施例中,X官能基係(CH2)zO,且z為2-5之整數,例如式(III)
上述含磷單體之雙鍵可於適當的自由基起始反應下,與壓克力單體之雙鍵進行共聚合反應,形成含磷壓克力樹脂。其中,磷酸結構在燃燒時會縮合脫水,且促進壓克力羧酸化之脫水反應,降低燃燒溫度;並進一步使壓克力碳化,形成不燃性的焦碳層,阻隔可燃氣體與熱的傳遞;另一方面,磷化物會產生HPO.或H2PO.,有捕捉自由基的作用,抑制連鎖反應,達到增加難燃性的效果。再者,含磷單體的氫鍵可產生物理交聯作用,以及雙官能性(例如n>1時)所產生的化學交聯作用可使結構穩定。因此亦同時提昇難燃性及耐熱性。
本發明之含磷壓克力共聚物樹脂之透光度可約介於70-99%之間,較佳為90%~99%之間;玻璃轉移溫度可約介於95-125℃之間,較佳為110℃以上;UL94垂直燃燒測試可達至少V2等級,甚至V1及V0等級。
在一實施例中,無鹵難燃壓克力共聚物樹脂之組成比例包括約40wt%~95wt%的丙烯酸單體,例如50wt%-85wt%,以及約5wt%-60wt%的含磷單體,例如15wt%-50wt%。此外,亦可包括約0.1wt%-5wt%的自由基起始劑,例如0.1wt%-2wt%。上述比例之丙烯酸單體及含磷單體可透過習知方法共聚,其包括:溶液聚合、沈澱聚合、懸浮聚合、塊狀聚合、乳化聚合等等,上述聚合方法
中,特別以使用自由基起始劑的溶液聚合法為佳,其中自由基起始劑係選自有苯乙酮類、安息香類、苯酮類、氧化膦類、縮醛類、蒽醌類、硫雜蒽酮類、偶氮化合物、過氧化物類、2,3-二烷基二酮化合物類、二硫化物化合物類、氟胺化合物類或芳香族鎏類(aromatic sulfoniums),例如:偶氮化合物類、過氧化物類、苯乙酮類,較佳為偶氮二異丁腈(AIBN)。於溶液聚合法中所用的溶劑,可為乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、丙酮、甲基乙基酮、甲基異丁基酮、環己酮、四氫呋喃、二噁烷、N,N-二甲基甲醯胺、N,N-二甲基乙醯胺、苯、甲苯、乙醯甲苯、二氯甲烷、氯仿、二氯乙烷、甲醇、乙醇、1-丙醇、2-丙醇、1-丁醇、或前述之組合。
本發明之無鹵難燃壓克力共聚物樹脂可透過其他不同之習知製程步驟,例如:澆鑄成型、射出成型、押出成型等等,以形成所需之物件如:薄膜、薄片、射出成形體、熱成形體、發泡體、纖維、單絲、不織布、紗、層合體、容器、及/或其他合宜之物件形狀。在一些實施例中,本發明之含磷壓克力共聚物樹脂可應用於建材、家具、電器用品、交通運輸工具、精密機器、電子通訊器材、纖維製品、食品包裝容器、農林漁業領域、醫療用品等等,並得以提供高透光度、高耐候性、高硬度、容易加工成型等優於其他樹脂之特性,且較習知含磷壓克力樹脂更具難燃度及耐熱性。
本發明之含磷單體與壓克力單體相容性良好,反應性高,共聚合後可維持透明度達90%以上。而氫鍵及雙鍵結
構則可提升壓克力的耐熱性。在一些實施例中,單體間的相容性使得即使在較高的磷含量,如40wt%,的情況下,仍然能維持高透光性,同時增加耐熱性,並提升壓克力難燃性至少達UL94垂直燃燒測試的V2等級。
在120克之甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA,methyl methacrylate)之預聚漿料中,添加30克之含磷單體混合物(式(III),n=1.5;即化學品CAS No.24599-21-1及化學品CAS No.32435-46-4之等莫耳混合),而使甲基丙烯酸甲酯為80wt%且含磷單體混合物為20wt%,並另加入0.45克的偶氮二異丁腈(AIBN,azodiisobutyronitrile)作為自由基起始劑,攪拌混合均勻後,使此漿料注入充滿壓克力鑄模用之模具中密封。將灌滿漿料的玻璃模具浸入60℃的恆溫水浴槽中4小時,移至110℃烘箱中烘烤2小時。經過冷卻脫模後即可得到一壓克力板,並依據ASTM D1003-00測試透光性,根據ASTM D7426-08進行玻璃轉移溫度分析測試耐熱性,以及依據UL94垂直燃燒法進行燃燒分析測試難燃性。所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA,methyl methacrylate)佔70wt%共105克,及含磷單體混合物(式(III),n=1.5;即化學品CAS
No.24599-21-1及化學品CAS No.32435-46-4之等莫耳混合)佔30wt%共45克,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯佔60wt%共90克,及含磷單體混合物(式(III),n=1.5;即化學品CAS No.24599-21-1及化學品CAS No.32435-46-4之等莫耳混合)佔40wt%共60克,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯佔75wt%共112.5克,及含磷單體(式(III),n=1;化學品CAS No.24599-21-1)佔25wt%共37.5克,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯佔65wt%共97.5克,及含磷單體(式(III),n=1;化學品CAS No.32435-46-4)佔35wt%共52.5克,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基
丙烯酸甲酯佔75wt%共112.5克,及含磷單體(式(II),R3=CH3,X=CH2,n=1)佔25wt%共37.5克,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料含100wt%之甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA,methyl methacrylate)共150克,不添加含磷單體,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯佔90wt%共135克,及含磷單體混合物(n=1.5,即化學品CAS No.24599-21-1及化學品CAS No.32435-46-4之等莫耳混合)佔10wt%共15克,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯佔80wt%共40克,及含磷單體(式(IV))佔20wt%共10克,並加入0.15克之自由基起始劑AIBN,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
製備方法如上述實施例1所述,但鑄模漿料中之甲基丙烯酸甲酯佔65wt%共32.5克,及含磷單體(式(V),化學品CAS No.682-30-4)佔35wt%共17.5克,並加入0.15克之自由基起始劑AIBN,所得壓克力板之相關性質如表(2)所示。
由表(2)結果可知,本發明之結構的透光度維持在一般壓克力樹脂之水平,且相較未加含磷單體或僅10%之含磷單體之PMMA更具有較良好的耐熱性,其玻璃轉移溫度至少較一般PMMA高出5.5℃;更可從對照例3及4中知,由於含磷單體結構缺乏如本發明所具有之氫鍵或雙官能性的交聯作用,且對照例4之含磷單體共聚合反應性較本發明差,而造成大量單體殘留於聚合體中,導致耐熱性明顯降低,遇熱容易發生變形。而相較於對照例1及2未通過難燃性測試下,本發明之實施例皆通過難燃性測試且至少達UL94 V-2等級。
雖然本發明已以數個較佳實施例揭露如上,然其並非用以限定本發明,任何所屬技術領域中具有通常知識者,在不脫離本發明之精神和範圍內,當可作任意之更動與潤飾,因此本發明之保護範圍當視後附之申請專利範圍所界定者為準。
Claims (12)
- 一種無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,包括由式(I)之丙烯酸單體以及式(II)之含磷單體所形成的共聚物:
其中,R1係氫或甲基,R2係氫、烷基、酯基、烷酯基、芳基、或雜芳基,R3係氫或甲基,X係(CH2)x,x=1-11之整數、(CH2CH2O)y,y=1-5之整數、或(CH2)zO,z=2-10之整數,以及n=1-2,其中n係整數或非整數。 - 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其中該丙烯酸單體包括:丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸辛酯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、甲基丙烯酸乙酯、甲基丙烯酸環烷酯、甲基丙烯酸羥基乙酯、甲基丙烯酸縮水甘油酯、甲基丙烯酸芳酯、甲基丙烯酸苯甲酯、丙烯酸-2-乙基己酯、乙氧基乙基丙烯酸酯、或氰基丙烯酸 乙酯。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其中該X係(CH2)ZO,且Z為2-5之整數。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其中該含磷單體係式(III)之單體,n=1-2之整數與非整數:
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其包括約50wt%-85wt%之該丙烯酸單體;以及約15wt%-50wt%之該含磷單體。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,更包括0.1wt%-2wt%的自由基起始劑,以總單體量為基準。
- 如申請專利範圍第6項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其中該自由基起始劑包括偶氮化合物類、過氧化物類、苯乙酮類、或前述之組合。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其透光度約介於70-99%之間。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂,其玻璃轉移溫度約介於95-125℃之間。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹 脂,其中該共聚物通過UL94垂直燃燒難燃性測試。
- 一種由申請專利範圍第1-10項任一項所述之無鹵難燃壓克力樹脂所成形之一物件。
- 如申請專利範圍第11項所述之物件,其包括薄膜、薄片、射出成形體、熱成形體、發泡體、纖維、單絲、不織布、紗、層合體、或容器。
