Abstract

本發明涉及一種適於層壓黏合劑應用之可固化製劑以及由其製備之層壓黏合劑。
基於異氰酸酯及雙酚A之環氧樹脂用於供食品包裝應用之層壓黏合劑中。然而,雙酚A環氧樹脂為一種潛在食品污染物,且在行業中正在被逐步淘汰。基於異氰酸酯的材料可引起安全性、致敏及暴露問題。原子質量小於1000道爾頓(Dalton)之單體及寡聚物若不完全反應成聚合物網狀結構,則可遷移至食品中。此外,使用基於異氰酸酯之樹脂可產生亦可潛在遷移至食品中的芳族一級胺。因此,具有或
不具有溶劑,不含基於雙酚A之材料與基於異氰酸酯之材料兩者的層壓黏合劑是合乎需要的。

羧酸封端聚酯可具有在100至250之範圍內的酸值(AV)。所有個別值及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露,例如AV可在140至210之範圍內。
本發明之環氧基封端聚酯樹脂具有環氧當量重量(EEW)242至1400。所有個別值及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露,例如EEW可在450至850之範圍內。
環氧基封端聚酯樹脂在50.0至82.5重量%之範圍內存在於可固化製劑中。在50.0與82.5重量%之間的所有個別值及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露;例如環氧基封端聚酯樹脂可在50.0至82.5重量%、60.0至78.0重量%以及70.0至78.0重量%之範圍內存在於可固化製劑中。

醇、新戊二醇、二乙二醇、三乙二醇、四乙二醇、聚乙二醇、二丙二醇、三丙二醇、聚丙二醇、環己烷二甲醇、烷氧基化己二醇、烷氧基化環己烷二甲醇、丙氧基化新戊二醇等。聚酯寡聚物可基於二醇,如乙二醇、二乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、1,4-丁二醇、2-甲基-1,3-丙二醇、新戊二醇、1,6-己二醇、1,4-環己烷二甲醇、1,3-環己烷二甲醇、三乙二醇等;與二羧酸,如己二酸、壬二酸、癸二酸、丁二酸、反丁烯二酸、順丁烯二酸、1,4-環己烷二甲酸、鄰苯二甲酸、間苯二甲酸及對苯二甲酸。丙烯酸化脂族胺基甲酸酯寡聚物可基於使用丙烯酸酯單體,如丙烯酸2-羥乙酯、丙烯酸羥丙酯、丙烯酸羥丁酯,所述丙烯酸酯單體與基於己烷二異氰酸酯、異氟爾酮二異氰酸酯、二甲苯二異氰酸酯或4,4'-亞甲基雙(異氰酸環己酯)與羥基封端聚酯、聚乙二醇或聚丙二醇之脂族異氰酸酯預聚物反應。丙烯酸化芳族胺基甲酸酯寡聚物可基於使用丙烯酸酯單體,如丙烯酸2-羥乙酯、丙烯酸羥丙酯、丙烯酸羥丁酯,所述丙烯酸酯單體與基於甲苯二異氰酸酯或4,4'-亞甲基二苯基二異氰酸酯與羥基封端聚酯、聚乙二醇或聚丙二醇之脂族異氰酸酯預聚物反應。
在各種實施例中,二丙烯酸酯樹脂具有在63.5至2000之範圍內的丙烯酸酯當量重量。所有個別值及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露,例如丙烯酸酯當量重量可在100至800之範圍內。
在各種實施例中,製劑亦可包括溶劑。可使用之溶劑的實例包含但不限於乙酸乙酯、甲基乙基酮、乙酸甲酯、
丙酮以及其組合。
製劑亦可基本上無溶劑。
可固化製劑用脂族胺固化劑固化。在各種實施例中,脂族胺固化劑具有低水平至中等水平(0%-約25%)之低分子量(500amu)胺。在各種實施例中,固化劑將具有750amu之分子量以使可能產生能夠賦予氣味或使物質遷移之低分子量殘餘物的低分子量寡聚物最少。750amu之所有個別範圍及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露。
在各種實施例中,基於胺之固化劑具有在50至500之範圍內的胺值。所有個別值及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露,例如胺值可在150至360之範圍內。
脂族胺試劑之實例包含但不限於苯烷胺;苯烷醯胺;二聚酸之胺基醯胺樹脂;源於脂族二胺(如乙二胺)、二乙三胺、三乙四胺、四乙五胺、哌嗪、胺基乙基哌嗪、異佛爾酮二胺、二甲苯二胺以及此等胺之混合物的胺基咪唑啉。
可固化製劑用脂族胺固化劑以在100:15.0至100:70.0之範圍內的混合比固化。在100:15.0與100:70.0之間的所有個別值及子範圍都包含在本文中並在本文中揭露。混合比藉由環氧化物封端聚酯之環氧化物當量重量(EEW)以及組分ii及/或iii之活化雙鍵官能度(次要組分之順丁烯二酸酯或丙烯酸酯官能度)及固化劑之胺值來確定。較佳混合比將在組分a與b之化學計量平衡或75%化學計量平衡的範圍內。
在各種實施例中,固化本發明之黏合劑經由兩種
不同反應路徑發生:1)用胺常規固化環氧化物,及2)用胺氮雜Michael固化順丁烯二酸酯官能團或丙烯酸酯部分(基團)。據信用胺固化劑固化順丁烯二酸聚酯樹脂藉由氮雜Michael加成反應向聚酯中存在之活化順丁烯二酸酯及/或反丁烯二酸酯官能團添加胺而發生;類似地,丙烯酸酯封端樹脂/寡聚物藉由氮雜Michael反應向丙烯酸酯添加胺而起反應。這個反應產生碳-氮鍵,且導致產生取代之胺官能團。取決於聚合物網狀結構中之其他胺的空間位阻及反應性,取代之胺可能夠進一步反應。
本發明之可固化製劑可被形成為層壓黏合劑,且可用於各種包裝應用,例如食品包裝應用中。根據本發明製備之層壓製品可用於各種包裝應用,例如食品包裝應用中,所述食品包裝應用如具有金屬蓋板或柔性熱密封蓋板之罐或容器、囊袋、柔性盒或紙盒、或包裝托盤。本發明之層壓黏合劑亦具有在1.5N/15mm至5.0N/15mm之範圍內,例如約2.5N/15mm的固化後黏結強度。應用黏度通常是在50℃下6500mPa*s,例如約4000-5500mPa*s。
來自Dow Chemical之DER 736具有以下性質:EEW為182.9,(SEC分析Mn 500,Mw 600,Mz 800,多分散性1.2,重量分數500道爾頓44.6%,重量分數1000道爾頓92.0%。)
來自Dow Chemical之DER 731具有以下性質:
EEW為135,(SEC分析Mn 250,Mw 300,Mz 400,多分散性1.2,重量分數500道爾頓88.3%,重量分數1000道爾頓99.2%。)
FascatTM 9100=氧化羥丁基錫,來自Arkema,Inc.,商品級
UnidymeTM 22=二聚化脂肪酸,來自Arizona Chemical,AV=192.9。
PolypoxTM P370=用於環氧樹脂之聚胺基咪唑啉硬化劑,來自The Dow Chemical Company;胺值為485;活性氫當量為95。
EpikureTM 3140=聚醯胺固化劑,二聚化脂肪酸及聚胺之反應產物,來自Momentive;胺值為375;活性氫當量為95。
Coex PP(75SLP)=Exxon Mobil Bicor SLP定向聚丙烯,非可熱封,厚度19微米(0.75密耳)。
Coex PP(70SPW)=Exxon Mobil Bicor SPW共擠出聚丙烯,厚度18微米(0.70密耳)。
PET=DuPont,聚酯,聚(乙二醇-對苯二甲酸酯),厚度23微米(92規格)厚聚酯薄膜。

背襯箔=12微米(48規格)聚酯(PET)薄膜,與Adcote 550/共反應物F一起在3.26g/m2(2.00磅/令)下層壓成0.00035密耳Al箔。
PET(92LBT)=DuPont,聚酯,聚(乙二醇-對苯二甲酸酯),厚度23微米(92規格)。
SR238B及SR259為可自Sartomer(Arkema Group)獲得之二丙烯酸酯封端樹脂;SR238B為1,6-己二醇二丙烯酸酯,SR259為聚乙二醇(200)二丙烯酸酯。
實例1:聚酯製備
將條目1-條目5裝入反應器中,且加熱至100℃。當溫度達到100℃時,使溫度增加至175℃,且使樹脂在所述溫度下保持0.75小時。接著使溫度增加至200℃,且使
樹脂在所述溫度下保持25分鐘,此後使溫度增加至225℃,且使樹脂在所述溫度下保持1小時。接著對樹脂取樣以測定AV。當AV10時,施加真空,接著降低至約260mm。在225℃下以及260mm之真空下維持樹脂直至AV3.0。接著使樹脂冷卻至約150℃,過濾並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:酸值(AV)0.86,羥基數(OHN)172,Mn 1250,Mw3450,在25℃下黏度7406mPa*s。
實例2:聚酯製備
在環境溫度(25℃-30℃)下將條目1-條目3裝入容器中。在氮氣下在攪拌下加熱樹脂至100℃。接著加熱樹脂至225℃,且保持在225℃下,此時理論上有約50%的水被移除。監測AV及過程中黏度。使樹脂維持在225℃下直至AV<約75。接著使樹脂冷卻至<125℃。接著添加條目4,且使樹脂在125℃-135℃下維持0.50小時。使溫度增加至225℃,且維持在225℃下;根據需要在327mm下施加真空以便使AV降低至最終靶標性質。監測AV及黏度;使溫度維持在225℃下直至AV<約150。接著使樹脂冷卻至約150℃,過濾並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:酸值(AV)149.73,Mn 950,Mw 1750,Mz 2550,重量分數500道爾頓10.6%,重量分數1000道爾頓32.1%,在25℃下黏度29500mPa*s。
實例3:聚酯製備
在環境溫度(25℃-30℃)下將條目1-條目4裝入容器中。在氮氣下在攪拌下加熱樹脂至100℃。接著加熱樹脂至225℃,且保持在225℃下,此時理論上有約50%之水被移除。監測AV及過程中黏度。使樹脂維持在225℃下直至AV<約80。接著使樹脂冷卻至<125℃。接著添加條目5,且使樹脂在125℃-135℃下維持0.50小時。使溫度增加至225℃,且維持在225℃下。根據需要在327mm下施加真空以便使AV降低至最終靶標性質。監測AV及黏度;使溫度維持在225℃下直至AV<約105。接著使樹脂冷卻至約150℃,過濾並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:酸值(AV)98,Mn 1200,Mw 2450,Mz 3900,重量分數500道爾頓7.6%,重量分數1000道爾頓22.2%,在25℃下黏度271,500mPa*s。
實例4:聚酯製備
在環境溫度(25℃-30℃)下將條目1-條目4裝入容器中。在氮氣下在攪拌下加熱樹脂至100℃。接著加熱樹脂至225℃,且保持在225℃下,此時理論上有約50%之水被移除。監測AV及過程中黏度。使樹脂維持在225℃下直至AV<約80。接著使樹脂冷卻至<125℃。接著添加條目5,且使樹脂在125℃-135℃下維持0.50小時。接著使溫度增加至225℃,且維持在225℃下。根據需要在435mm下施加真空以便使AV降低至最終靶標性質。監測AV及黏度。使樹脂維持在225℃下直至AV<約160。接著使樹脂冷卻至約150℃,過濾並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:酸值(AV)153,Mn 650,Mw 1550,Mz 2650,重量分數500道爾頓19.2%,重量分數1000道爾頓42.8%,在25℃下黏度173,750mPa*s。
實例5-實例11:製備環氧化物封端聚酯樹脂
實例5-實例11中之製備為類似的。將二環氧化
物、一種或多種二酸以及催化劑裝入反應器中。緩慢加熱至135℃-140℃。在135℃-140℃下維持約0.50小時,接著加熱至150℃-155℃,且在150℃-155℃下維持約1.25至2小時,接著監測AV及黏度。在150℃-155℃下維持,且監測AV及黏度直至AV<1.0;轉移樹脂並包裝。
實例5-實例9之製劑顯示於下表1中。
實例10及實例11之製劑概述於下表2中。
實例12-實例24:製備環氧化物封端聚酯樹脂摻合物
實例12至實例24中之製備為類似的。將各配方中之條目裝入反應器中,緩慢加熱至50℃,且混合。使樹脂在50℃下維持4小時,此後將它轉移並包裝。
實例12至實例16之製劑顯示於下表3中。
實例17至實例21之製劑顯示於下表4中。
實例22及實例24之製劑顯示於下表5中。
實例25:製備胺固化劑
將條目1及條目2裝入反應器中,且緩慢加熱至200℃,並在所述溫度下維持2小時,同時監測水逸出。使溫度增加至225℃-230℃,且維持1小時,此後將樹脂轉移並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:胺值217.15,在25℃下黏度51100mP*s。
實例26:製備胺固化劑
將條目1及條目2裝入反應器中。緩慢加熱樹脂至50℃並混合。使溫度在50℃下維持4小時,此後將樹脂轉移並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:胺值185.58,在25℃下黏度10488mPa*s。
實例27:製備胺固化劑
將條目1及條目2裝入反應器中,且緩慢加熱至200℃,並在所述溫度下維持2小時,同時監測水逸出。使溫度增加至225℃-230℃,且維持1小時,此後將樹脂轉移並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:胺值238.90,在25℃下黏度49000mP*s。
實例28:製備胺固化劑
將條目1及條目2裝入反應器中,且緩慢加熱至200℃,並在所述溫度下維持2小時,同時監測水逸出。使溫度增加至225℃-230℃,且維持1小時,此後將樹脂轉移並包裝。
最終樹脂具有以下性質:胺值169.64,在25℃下黏度54625mP*s。
黏合劑評估研究:
使用一系列層壓製品構造用基於胺之樹脂評估環氧基封端聚酯摻合物之黏合性質。藉由溶劑手工澆鑄方法及層壓機評估此等兩部分黏合劑系統。
以下縮寫用於描述測試結果:as:黏合劑分裂;ftr:薄膜撕裂;fstr:薄膜拉伸;fsl:薄膜裂開;at:黏合劑轉移;sec:次要;zip:拉鏈性黏結;pmt:部分金屬轉移。在Thwing-Albert拉伸測試器(QC-3A型)上用50牛頓負載傳感器(load cell)在10.0cm/min速率下,對15mm寬之層壓條帶測定黏合黏結強度。
如下進行實例29-實例74:使環氧基封端聚酯摻
合物與固化劑在以下顯示之混合比下,於處於50重量%濃度下之乙酸乙酯中混合。將溶液塗佈在第一基材上以產生1.6276g/m2(1.0磅/令)之塗層乾重。將第二基材施加於乾燥塗層,且在室溫(約25℃)下固化所得層壓製品。考查隨固化時間而變之黏結強度,且在以下加以報道。“混合比”為環氧樹脂與固化劑之重量比,表示為100:X。在標記為“層壓製品結構”之欄中,依次列出第一基材及第二基材。

藉由以下方式測量100%固體樹脂之黏度:連同恆溫小樣品適配器及27號轉軸一起採用Brookfield RV
DV-II+黏度計,以及歷經25℃至70℃之範圍以5℃增量改變溫度,並使樣品在溫度下穩定20至30分鐘,隨後記錄黏度。黏度以等於厘泊之毫帕*秒(mP*s)加以報道。
連同恆溫小樣品適配器及27號轉軸一起採用Brookfield RV DV-II+黏度計來測定黏合劑系統之罐儲期及應用黏度,其中恆溫槽處於50℃之溫度下。隨時間變化監測黏度,黏度以毫帕*秒(mPa*s)加以報道;應用黏度為在50℃下測量之最小黏度。
藉由ASTM D3655-06(美國測試與材料學會(American Society for Testing and Materials),West Conshohocken,PA,USA)之方法測量酸值(AV)。
藉由ASTM E1899-08(美國測試與材料學會,West Conshohocken,PA,USA)之方法測量羥基數(OHN)。
藉由ASTM D2074-07之方法中用於藉由替代性指示劑法測試脂肪胺之總胺、一級胺、二級胺及三級胺值的方法(美國測試與材料學會,West Conshohocken,PA,USA)測量胺值。
藉由ASTM D1652-11(美國測試與材料學會,West Conshohocken,PA,USA)之方法測量環氧當量重量(EEW)。
在Thwing-Albert拉伸測試器(QC-3A型)上用50牛頓負載傳感器在10.0cm/min速率下,對15mm寬之層壓條帶測定黏合黏結強度。報道三個單獨層壓製品之平均黏結強度。
尺寸排阻色譜法(SEC)使用兩個PLgel Mix-B及PLgel Mixed-D管柱以及Viscotek之三重檢測器。聚苯乙烯標準物用於建立確定重量平均分子量及數量平均分子量之通用校正曲線。在分析之前用THF稀釋樣品以得到約2.5mg/ml之聚合物濃度。
Claims (14)
- 一種可固化製劑,其包括:a)摻合物,所述摻合物包括:i)具有以下結構之環氧基封端聚酯:
其中R-是由下述者組成之族群中選出:-(CH2)4-、及 ,其中n為1-25且其中聚酯單元是由下述者組成之族群中選出:羧酸封端聚酯及二羧酸封端聚酯;以及至少一種ii)具有由下述者組成之族群中選出的結構的順丁烯二酸(聚)酯: 其中R獨立地為氫或及 其中R獨立地為CH3、C2H5或,或iii)具有以下結構之二丙烯酸酯封端寡聚物或聚合物: 其中R'為二醇、聚乙二醇、聚丙二醇、聚酯或聚胺基甲酸酯基團,及b)脂族胺固化劑。 - 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的製劑,其中所述聚酯單元是 由下述者組成之族群中選出:己二酸封端聚酯、壬二酸封端聚酯、癸二酸封端聚酯、丁二酸封端聚酯、反丁烯二酸封端聚酯、順丁烯二酸封端聚酯、1,4-環己烷二甲酸封端聚酯、鄰苯二甲酸封端聚酯、間苯二甲酸封端聚酯、對苯二甲酸封端聚酯、乙二醇封端聚酯、二乙二醇封端聚酯、丙二醇封端聚酯、二丙二醇封端聚酯、1,4-丁二醇封端聚酯、2-甲基-1,3-丙二醇封端聚酯、新戊二醇封端聚酯、1,6-己二醇封端聚酯、1,4-環己烷二甲醇封端聚酯、1,3-環己烷二甲醇封端聚酯、三乙二醇封端聚酯、三羥甲基乙烷封端聚酯、三羥甲基丙烷封端聚酯、甘油封端聚酯、鄰苯二甲酸酐封端聚酯及順丁烯二酸酐封端聚酯。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項或第2項所述的製劑,其中環氧基封端聚酯樹脂具有在242至1200之範圍內的環氧當量重量。
- 如前述申請專利範圍中任一項所述的製劑,其中所述聚酯單元具有在100至250之範圍內的酸值。
- 如前述申請專利範圍中任一項所述的製劑,其中所述順丁烯二酸(聚)酯為與二羧酸及/或酸酐及二醇共聚之順丁烯二酸酐。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項所述的製劑,其中所述二羧酸是由 下述者組成之族群中選出:己二酸、壬二酸、癸二酸、丁二酸、反丁烯二酸、順丁烯二酸、1,4-環己烷二甲酸及鄰苯二甲酸,且所述二醇是由下述者組成之族群中選出:乙二醇、二乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、1,4-丁二醇、2-甲基-1,3-丙二醇、新戊二醇、1,6-己二醇、1,4-環己烷二甲醇、1,3-環己烷二甲醇、三乙二醇、異山梨醇、三羥甲基乙烷、三羥甲基丙烷及甘油。
- 如前述申請專利範圍中任一項所述的製劑,其中所述脂族胺為由下述者組成之族群中選出的化合物的衍生物:乙二胺、二乙三胺、三乙四胺、四乙五胺、哌嗪、胺基乙基哌嗪、異佛爾酮二胺、二甲苯二胺以及其組合。
- 如前述申請專利範圍中任一項所述的製劑,其中所述脂族胺具有至少750amu之分子量。
- 如前述申請專利範圍中任一項所述的製劑,其中所述摻合物a)及所述脂族胺b)以在100:15.0之範圍內的混合比存在。

- 如申請專利範圍第10項所述的製劑,其中所述溶劑是由 下述者組成之族群中選出:乙酸乙酯、甲基乙基酮、乙酸甲酯、丙酮以及其組合。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項至第9項中任一項所述的製劑,其中所述製劑基本上無溶劑。
- 一種層壓黏合劑,其由如前述申請專利範圍中任一項所述的製劑製備。
- 如申請專利範圍第13項所述的層壓黏合劑,其中所述層壓黏合劑具有在1.5至5.0N/15mm之範圍內的黏合劑黏結強度以及在50℃下6500mPa*s之應用黏度。
