Abstract
With the method according to the invention for producing vibrations and transmitting them to a sonication liquid (11), the sound waves are produced by a sound probe (2) with an electroacoustic transducer (6) and a resonator (3) which is attached to the electroacoustic transducer. According to the invention, the resonator (3) is enclosed by a dividing wall (9), and the intermediate space (7) between the resonator (3) and the dividing wall (9) is filled with a transmission liquid (15). This liquid transmits the vibrations from the surface of the resonator (3) to the sonication liquid (11) enclosing the dividing wall (9). The resonator (3) can be put into operation independently of the damping qualities of the sonication liquid (11) and the particles to be sonicated which are contained therein.
