Abstract

A water closet comprises a bowl part (2) in the form of a bowl in which flush water is stored; a rim water path (1) provided in the peripheral edge portion at the upper end of the bowl part; a substantially inverted U-type trap discharge passage (3) which is formed in communication with the bottom of the bowl part and which is provided with a weir (37) on the way; and a water supply part (5, 6) provided at the back of the bowl part and supplying flush water to the bowl part and the rim water path, the trap discharge passage (3) being formed with a flush water peeling-off part (4) constituted by suddenly changing the form of the inner wall surface from the weir (37) to the descending passage (33) of the trap discharge passage. Further, a flow resistance means (63) for delaying an arrival of flush water at the rim water path (1) is provided between the water supply part (5, 6) and the rim water path (1).
