Abstract
Process for preparing an aldehyde compound by hydroformylation of an ethylenically unsaturated organic compound in the presence of a catalyst system comprising of a multidentate phosphorous ligand and a Group VIII metal, in which the multidentate phosphorous ligand is a multidentate phosphorous amide ligand which ligand contains at least one trivalent P(N(R)-)(O-)2 group, in which ligand the possible other trivalent phosphorus group or groups is/are a trivalent P(O-)3 group in which R is hydrogen or an organic group and in which the trivalent groups are connected via a multivalent bridging group (A) and in which the remaining one or two free bonds of the trivalent group are bonded with one or two monovalent organic groups or the two free fonds are bonded with one divalent organic group.
