A benzoyl guanidine of the formula (I) (I) in which R(1) is hydrogen or R(5)-SOm, in which m is 0, 1 or 2, R(5) is (C1-C8)- alkyl, R(2) is or or in which R(11) is (C1-C3)- alkyl and when h is zero, i and k are zero or 1 (however, h, i and k will not be zero at the same time), or when h is 1, i and k are zero, and its pharmaceutically acceptable salt.
