Abstract

An ignition control system for internal combustion engines comprising: means for defining a possible control range of spark advance angles by generating a maximum spark angle signal associated with a maximum spark advance angle and a minimum spark advance angle signal associated with a minimum spark advance angle; a first circuit having an output terminal for causing a signal level change at its output terminal to generate an ignition signal within the possible control range of spark advance angles; a second circuit for inhibiting the signal level change at the output terminal of the first circuit until a spark advance angle which is delayed from the maximum spark advance angle according to engine speed increase beyond a prescribed engine speed is reached.
