Abstract

A disposable cover for containing an absorbent material, the disposable cover comprising: a liquid pervious rewet barrier which permits liquids to readily penetrate through its thickness, the rewet barrier having an outward surface at least a portion of which is capable of contacting the garment of a wearer when in use and an inward surface at least a portion of which contacts the absorbent material, and first and second longitudinally oriented side edges, the rewet barrier having capillaries penetrating through the rewet barrier to permit flow of fluid from the outward surface, through the rewet barrier, to the inward surface; and a liquid impervious anti-stain barrier which prevents liquids from penetrating its thickness, the anti-stain barrier having an outward surface at least a portion of which is capable of contacting the garment of a wearer when in use and an inward surface at least a portion of which contacts the absorbent material, first and second longitudinally oriented end edges; in which at least one of the longitudinally oriented end edges of the liquid impervious anti-stain barrier is jointed to one of the longitudinally oriented end edges of liquid pervious rewet barrier.
