Abstract

An improved superconductor and process for manufacture of the superconductor, said superconductor comprising a precursor compound containing a metal and providing nucleation sites for Y2BaCuO5 (211) particles, said particles having a size up to 2 μm. The superconductor has improved flux pinning, critical current density, homogeneity and an increased oxygen content.
