Abstract
A process or the preparation of methyl ethers of corn oil involves processes of filtration with separation of attendant impurities, neutralization of free fatty acids, oil washing with salt solution and water, decontamination and reesterification. Corn oil with content of free fatty acids of 95-180 mg KOH/g, and neutralization thereof is performed by three-stage esterification with strong sulphuric acid in amount of 15 % of weight for 2 hours at a temperature of 60-65°C with constant stirring with separation of water and alcohol. Methanol and sulphuric acid are taken in mole ratio of 12:1, and refined oil is fed for reesterification with addition of methanol and catalyst KOH.
