Abstract

The present invention can be used in oil and gas industry. The proposed method for determining flow rate of piped gas consists in measuring the gas absolute density, temperature, pressure, and flow rate at the input of the monitored gas pipeline section, measuring the gas temperature and pressure at the output of the monitored gas pipeline section, determining the gas constant as well as average and transferred gas pressure and temperature over the monitored gas pipeline section. The said parameters are used for calculating the monitored gas flow rate. The present method provides for increasing the measurement accuracy in the measurement of gas flow rate due to taking into consideration the parameters of gas piped over a gas pipeline.
