IMPROVEMENTv IN OAR-LOCKS.
Specification forming' part of Letters Patent N 0. 10,543, dated February 21, 1854.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM PERRY GLAD- ING, of the city of New York, county and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Rowlock for Preventing the Oar from Wearing Off Against the Oar-Lock; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exactv description.
The nature of my invention consistsin providing the oar with a cylinder surrounded With a band and bolt, forming' a rowlock, which prevents the oar from wearing off and prevents the oai` from slipping out of its place.
To enable others to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
