Be it known that I, JOHN A. PoLTooK, a citizen of the United States, and a resident yof lVoodridge, in the county of Bergen and State or' New Jersey, have invented anew and Improved Holder for lVrist-Viatches, of which the following is a iull, clear, and exact description. 1
The object of the invention is toprovide a new and imp roved holder for wrist watches arranged to readily accommodate watches of different sizes, to present no projections whawtever on the face of the watch, thus preventing dress parts, laces and other iinery from being caught and torn while the wrist watch is in use.
Another object is to securely hold the watch in place by attaching the holder to the watch pendant and not to the rim as now generally practised.
In order to accomplish the desired result, use is made of a seat for the closed back of the watch to rest on, the seat being provided with means adapted to engage the watch pendant to securely tasten the watch in place on the holder.
A A. practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts Vin all the views.

\ is a rear race view of the same; Fig. 4 is a sectional plan view of the same on the line ad of Fig. 1; Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the attaching and `locking means of the holder in open position; and Fig. 6 is a similar view of the same with the parts in closed position.
The holder as illustrated in the drawings is made of a single piece of wire bent into v an approximately circular 'or ring shape, as plainly shown in F ig. 3, and of a diameter somewhat less than that of the watch 11 to be seated with its closed back on the seat 10. The lower end of the seat 10 is formed into a loop 12 engaged bv one end of the wrist band or bracelet 13, of any approved construction. The upper ends of the seat 10 terminate in a loop 15 and a key 16, respectively, of which the loop 15 is open at the back for engagement with the pendant 17 ofthe watch 11, as plainly indicated in the drawings. The' loop l15 terminates in a return bend 18 spaced from the loop to allow the key 16 to pass between the loop and the return bend 18 with a view to close the open back ot' the loop 15-. The
key 16 is formed by doubling the wire into wedge shape, as plainly indicated in Fig.

When the key 16 is pushed home its members are pressed toward each other to securely lock the seat 10 in position on the pendant 17 of the watch 11. The return bend member 1S terminates in a loop 20 adapted to pass y around the front of the pendant 17 to then terminate in a ring-shaped member 21. The end'of the key 1G terminates in a similarly shaped member 22, and the members 21 and 22 are approximately in a plane parallel to the plane of the seat 10. The upper ends 'of the members 21 and 22 terminate in eyes 23, 24 adapted to register with each other to be engaged by the other end ot' the wrist band or bracelet 18, as plainly shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 8.
` From the foregoing it will be seen that the holder presents no projections on the face oi the watch 1l, and the said holder is securely locked to the pendant 17 of the watch 11 thus preventing the watch from becoming accidentally detached from the seat 10. It is understood that in many holders for wrist watches as now construc'ted the watch is held in place on the holder by prongs and one end of the bracelet is attached to the bow 25, which is liable vto become detachedv or to break off the post The half-ring the Y key 16 against accidental Vdisengagef ment from the pendant 17 and the loop 15. Thus the watch cannot possibly become disconnected Jfrom thel holder unless the end of the wrist band or bracelet 1,3 is first disv connected from the eyes 23 and 24.
TheV holder is ,very simple and durable in construction and the seat readily accommodates a number of diii'erent sized Watches so that only a few holders of different sized seats lO'are necessary practically to accommodate the different sized Watches new generally made. Y
Having thus described' my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Let,- ters Patent e 1. A holder for Wrist Watches made of a single piece of material and comprising an approximately circular seat for the closed back of a Watch to rest on, the said seat having Vat one end an integral loop open at the back and extendingV at an angle to the seat,
the loop being adapted` to engage the pend ant, the s aid seat having a looking memberat the other end adapted to extend through said'loop to close the latter and lock the loop to the Watch pendant.
` 2. lA holder for Wrist Watches, comprising a seat for the closed back of a Watch to rest on, the said seat having an integral loop open at the back and extending at an angleto the seat, the loop being adapted to engage the Watch pendant, thesaid seat` having a locking member adapted to engage the open end of the loop to close the latter and lock the loopk to the pendant, and half ring shaped members of which one extends from the loop and the other from the locking member, the said half ring shaped members terminating in eyes adapted to register With each other, and a Wristl band4 attached at one end to the saideyes and at the other end to the said seat.

A holder for Wrist Watches, comprising a seat for the closed back of a Watch to rest on, the said seat having an integral loop open at the back and extending at an angle to the seat, the loop being adapted to engage, the pendant, the said seat having a locking member adapted to engagey the open end of the loop to close the latter'and lock the loop tothe pendant, the Said locking member being formed of a doubled-up spring Wire lformed into Wedge shape, one of the arms of the Wedge bearing against the back of the loop and the other arm bearing against the back of the Watch pendant.

A holder for Wrist Watches made from a single piece of wire bent to form a circular seat for the closed back of a Watch to rest on, the ends ofthe seat terminating one in a loop and the other in a locking key, of which the loop is open at the back and its end has a return bend, the loop being adapted to engage the Watch pendant, the said key being formed by doubling up the Wire into Wedge shape to engage the bight of the said return bend and the watch pendant, the holder having half ring shaped members, of Which one extends from the end of the said return bend and the other extends from the key, the ends of the half ring shaped members terminating in eyes adapted to register With each other, and a Wrist band having one end attached to the said registering eyes and having the other end attached to the said seat at the bottom` thereof.

A holder for Wrist Watches, comprising a seat for the back of the Watch to rest on, a loop on the said seat open at the back and adapted to engage the Watch pendant, a locking memberl on the seat adapted to engage the open end of the loop to close the latter and lock the loop to the pendant, and members extending respectively from the said loop and the locking member and terminating'in eyes adapted to register with each other.
