LAVATORY.
eas es.
Application filed April 26,
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, HARRY XV. RUBEL, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Lavatories of which the following is a specification.
he object of this invention is to provide a lavatory installation embodying a liquid soap dispenser in a neat and attractive form constituting a fixed part of the installation and arranged for individual use in connection with a particular wash stand.
In the accompanying drawings illustrating a selected embodiment of the invention Fig. 1 is an elevation of a lavatory embodying the invention.
2 is a sectional view on the line of 2--2, Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings, 3 is a wash stand and a is a mirror in sectional form fastened to the wall 5 at the rear of the wash stand. The mirror may be in a single, continuous sheet instead of in the sectional form illustrated and the wash basins may be mounted on a continuous slab instead of being of the pedestal form illustrated.
The soap dispenser comprises a tank or receptacle 6 fastened to the wall beneath the mirror by any suitable means. A border strip 7 of marble may be arranged 'on the wall at the bottom of the mirror and the tank 6 secured to the wall-closely adjacentto the lower edge of said strip, as shown. The tank is preferably made in an ornamental form with a top 8 constituting a shelf and a dispensing valve 9 secured to the lower portion of the tank. In the form Specification of Letters latent.
and ornamental appearance.

illustrated the tank is generally triangular in shape, the horizontal top 8 forming the shelf, the straight back 10 being fiat against the wall and the front 11 being curved or otherwise shaped to present an attractive I prefer to provide an individual tank for each wash stand so that each tank may be cared for, filled and cleaned entirely independent of the other tanks, and therefore any interruption in the use of one tank will have no efi'ect upon the other tanks. A. filling opening 12 is located in a convenient position on the tank to enable it to be readily filled.
My invention provides a simple, neat and convenient construction and arrangement of a liquid soap dispenser in a lavatory installation so that the soap tank serves the purpose of a container for the liquid soap and shelf in an ornamental and attractive manner. The dispensing valve may be located centrally with relation to the washstand or at one side of the tank as desired and in any position on the tank it will be convenient for use. The tank may be readily taken down for repair and easily replaced without afi'ecting the other dispensers.
I claim:
A lavatory comprising a washstand, a liquid soap dispensing tank supported above said stand, and having a broad, fiat, upper surface forming a shelf and tapering downwardly to a narrow bottom, and a soap dispensing valve adj aceut to the bottom of said tank and projecting outwardly over said'wash stand.
