Application filed November trap doors, and said chutes being provided with means for cooperating with the doors for opening the doors sufiiciently to allow the discharge of ore from the chute into the bins,
and subsequently allow the doors to drop down to closed position.
The particular structural details andtheir relative arrangement and association will be come more readily apparent from the following description and drawings.
In the drawings Figure 1 represents a fragmentary top plan view showing the general assembly and cooperation of parts, certain of the trap doors being broken away and certain trap doors on the opposite sides being twisted to open position.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation showing the details of the trap door lifting means.
Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view through the upper part of a bin constructed vin accordance with the invention with the tripper and its chutes in elevation.
Fig. 4 is an exaggerated longitudinal section through the discharge end of one of the chutes.
Attention is first invited to Fig. 3 wherein it will be observed that the storage bin is denoted by the numerals 9 and 10. The numeral 11 designates generally a supporting or central roof structure or the like of appropriate arrangement. Embodied in this structure are spaced parallel T-beams 12. These constitute supports for the rails 13 and the rails serve to accommodate the transporting means of the tripper. The tripper is generally denoted by the numeral 1 1 and comprises i a container having a pulley l5 accommodat- 1, 1930; seriaina aeasie;
ing the endless: ore delivery belt-1 6.- 'l his tripper is provided with 'a pair ofidovvnward l y diverging d-i scharge chutes "17; which are located to empty through-the spaned paral- H lel entrance openings or slots leading: to the bins9an'd1 O:
In this connection, I call attention: to the flat formation; the slot oneach side being: 'defi'ned'by horizontalwooden stringers mt and 1 9. These stringersserve to support] the trap doors 2.0 provide wmultiplicitypfi these doors, and these are of flexible belting material 21' having flexible metal reinzfiore ing straps'22connectedthereto. O ne'lon'g itudinaledg e portion of each: door is bolted down as at 23 on; the outer-stringer I 9= to provi'de-ahingemounting; The'free swingable'e'dge-portion of'e'ach of the trap doors is designed to-be li-ttied as the tripper 14 moves back: and fort-non therails 7o 13, so as t'o uncover the slotand to permit the ore-t'o-be diseharged'into the respective bins.
To accomplish-this, I provide special head structures on'thedischarge'ends-i oft'he re-- spective chutes 17 Eaclihead structure comprises a centralized nozzle forming poi; tion-24 on opposite sides oi: which are lifting shoe/s25? These sh'oesare in the nature oi extensions formed from-thin? sheetfmetal 26' n and reinforcing straps or wearstr'ips 27. The pointed end portions of-these shoes-are designed to' ride beneath the sw ingahle ends a of the trap doors. vTheheadf structure e-mbodies; attaching brackets28- secured to opposite sidesof the adj aice nt or companion chutes; The numerals 29 designate"depend ing shields. The numeral BO designates aprotector g uard secured by suitable'attaching brackets 31 'to the*movable tripper. This guard} acts to fears the doors dow nwardly under'the; driving mechanism ot the tripperfi The gist' of the inventive conception isfounded on a suitable or appropriate ore re ceiving bin, which-isliere shownas character ized in its top-portionwith spaced 'parallcl longitudinal slots' defining entrance' iopenings thrui which the ore is-delivered from-the ma abletripper into thebin,
These slots are defined hy spac'ediparal lel I horizontal'stringers whieh'const-itute mount 00 is of a duplex type that is embodying dis-v charge chutes leading down through and in v communication withthe intake slots of the manner.
delivered on the conveyor belt into the intake bin. 7 Means, including pointed lifting shoes ofeach chute for sliding beneath and succes sively lifting the trap doors to permit ore to be properly discharged to allow the trap doors to drop downby. gravity to normally closedpositionL In operation, it is apparent that the tripper 14 is suitably supported on the rails and to move back and forth in, the conventional Likewise, the ore (not shown) is portion of the casing or housing of the tripper and is then discharged by gravity simul- 1 her.
ture as the tripper travels along whereby the escape of dust through the slot is prevented,
and a guard member connected with the tripper and having a downwardly and outwardly extending portion located above one of-the pointed ends of the spout with its outer part substantially flat and located beyond the extremity of the pointed end of the spout, said guard member acting toinsure the closing movement of the section of the closure mem- In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.

. and a nozzle is provided on the discharge end taneously through the discharge chutes '17.
Inasmuch as the, chutes are providing with lifting shoes on the discharge ends, as the shoes rise beneath and are in sliding contact 'I claim as new is with the doors, it is evident that the doors are lifted and the ore slid into the bins in an efficient manner.
The present embodiment of-the invention has been disclosed in considerable. detail merely for the puropse of exemplification since in actual practice, it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirablein the statement of the invention and the above description.
It is to be understood thatby describing v in detail herein any particular form, structure, or arrangement, 1t 1s not intended to limit the invention beyond the terms of the claim or the requirements of the prior art.
Having thus described. my invention, what 1 In combination witha storage bin having an entrance slotinit's top and a closure for said slot formed of sections of flexible material, eachsection being connected atone edge to a part of the top of the bin adjacent the wall of the slot, reinforced strips connected with each section and-spaced apart and extended at right angles from the hinged edge of the section, and spaced from said edge a movabletripper including a hopper having a discharge spout for extending into the slot and a pointed member on each end of the spout, saidpointed members and the spout 7 having downwardly and'outwardly sloping H sidewalls against which portions of the 010- sure member will rest as said portions of the p j closuremember are lifted by the spout struc-
