scribed, the shaft 21, by engagement of the pin For effecting reciprocation of the slide unit, 5 41 of arm 20 with the tip of lever 18, is rotated there is provided a bracket fastened to the underin a clockwise direction, causing the forked side of slide 2 and carrying the roller 33 embraced finger 22 (Fig. 2a) which is mounted on the shaft by the outwardly curved tines or prongs of the to move the pin 23 of the sliding bar 24. The forked end or open-ended slot of lever 11, which 45 resulting upward movement of the bar 24 brings is nn d y link 10 t lever 9 uat y a th depression 2%, thereof beneath the pin of a, cam 8, which rotates once for each reciprocation bracket 26 secured to and movable with the of carria The Cams 8 a d 15 rotate in timed presser bar 6, permitting the springs 27 forcibly relation to each other to effect the sequence of to depress the presser bar for clamping the operations previously described and may be 50 wrapping material against the plates '7. mounted on a common shaft, which is driven at 195 Upon continued movement of the slide unit, the a uniform rate of speed by or from any suitable paper or tinfoil clamped between the plates '7 motive device. The feeding or downward moveand bar 6 is pulled from the roll 5. In the meanment of the slide unit 2 is positively effected by time, after bar 6 has been released, the cam 15 the cam 8 and return movement of the slide is '55 rotates the lever 16 in a clockwise direction, effected by the spring 28, the adjustable stop 34 determining the uppermost position of carriage 2. The cam as indicated is shaped to permit the slide unit to remain stationary for a desired interval at the ends of its stroke to permit cam 15 to bring the tips of fingers 18 and 13 into the path of movement of the pin on lever 20 and to allow time for cutting of the strip.
