Heretofore, I have made and used a dispensing fixture of the kindv shown in my Letters Patent aforesaid, the same being of the same general character as here shown and described, but the same was formed of relatively heavy cast parts and more costly assemblage than is required by the improvements herein illustrated and described.
. With these and other objects in view, my invention consists in the features of construction hereinafter described in the specification and pointed out in the claims.

Inthis manner, the arm structure 6 is provided with a smooth circular and shouldered bearing portion which enters one end of the tubular core R of the paper roll.
Referring to the other end of the bracket 2, there is-pivoted on a transverse axis at 9 an arm 7 similar to the arm 6, but arranged for movement in the opposite direction. This arm 'I is provided at its free end with a varying structure 10, 11, 12, corresponding to the similar structure on the arm 6, but in this case the shouldered bearing 11, 12, is extended in the opposite direction to that presented by the corresponding part 11, 12, of the arm 6. There is a further distinction between the two arms, as the arm 7 is provided with shoulders 18 which rest upon the surface of the bracket 2 when the arm is at right angles to the plane of the bracket, as indicated in Figs. 2, 4 and 6. In this manner, the arm '7 when positioned for actual use, it provides a shouldered bearing 11, 12, which has a definite position, and the paper roll is retained thereon by the spring action of the arm 6 which is so constructed as to be spring-pressed toward the opposite end of the paper roll, so'as to perform the dual function of a bearing and a brake to prevent the spinning or free unrolling of the paper web when the end thereof is pulled in the act of withdrawing a certain portion corresponding to a towel. This arm 7 is furthermore provided with a heel extension 16 which is shaped to engage an aperture 17 with the edge of which the heel extension frictionally engages, as shown in Fig. 2, for holding the arm in its right angled position. This heel extension 16, however, snaps out of engagement with the edge of the aperture 17 when the arm 7 is turned downward to the position shown in Fig. 3. The heel extension 16, therefore, may be considered as a temporary spring lock forholding the arm in a right angled position, and eliminating any tendency to` rattle. Furthermore, the arm 7 when in raised position constitutes a fixed abutment against which the' end of the paper roll is pressed under the spring action of the other arm 6, and the paper -is thereby journaled upon the hub-like shouldered portions 11, 12, and, at the samelghtime, sufliciently4 clamped between them that a" friction vor braking action is assured to prevent undesirable unwinding of the roll.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In a dispensing xture for paper in roll form, the combination of a bracket with an arm at each end adapted to extend laterally from the bracket and respectively provided with shouldered bearing portions oppositely directed for receiving and supporting the ends of the paper roll, one of said arms being hinged to the bracket with provision' for detachably locking the same at right angles to the plane of the bracket and so as to prevent swinging action, and the other of which is hingedv with freedom of movement toward or from thefirst mentioned arm, and a spring device Afor yieldingly,Y pressing the said arm last mentioned ini positionzto' engage the end of the paper ,roll and apply a. braking pressure thereto.
