- the alternative base plate and its alternative blocking fingers can be formed out of a solid material, especially steel, aluminum, or plastic, as a result of which the service life and the load capacity of the feed and sorting device are improved in particular.
- the alternative base plate with the alternative blocking fingers can comprise a soft coating, especially a silicone coating.

- the attachment is preferably accomplished by means of a clamping device such as a plastic clip. In this way, the alternative base plate is prevented from slipping out of position during operation.
- the blocking slide unit can also comprise an alternative upper retaining plate, on which the alternative base plate is arranged and on which at least one fastening means for fastening the alternative base plate to the alternative upper retaining plate is attached.
- the fastening means comprises a locking projection, wherein a locking and release opening in the alternative base plate is assigned to the locking projection in such a way that, by shifting the alternative base plate in the locking and release opening relative to the alternative upper retaining plate, the alternative base plate can be detached from the alternative upper retaining plate or fixed in position on the alternative upper retaining plate.
- the alternative base plate could also be used as the upper base plate, when the inventive base plate is used as the lower base plate.

- the tablets are usually sorted into vertically extending filling tubes 10 ( FIG. 7 ) of a feed and sorting device by upward and downward movement of the bottom of a sorting plate (not shown) arranged above filling tubes 10 .
- Filling tubes 10 are designed to provide a proper orientation of the tablets.
- the tablets, which are arranged in a stack in filling tubes 10 must further be singled out so that only individual tablets are fed to each pocket of a blister package.
- This separation process of single tablets in filling tubes 10 is performed by a blocking slide unit having horizontally extending blocking fingers 1 ( FIG. 2 ) which are moved out of and back into the guiding channel of filling tubes 10 . In this way, blocking fingers 1 block the guiding channel in their inserted position, while they allow exactly one tablet per filling tube 10 to fall down in their removed position.
- FIG. 1 shows a first exemplary embodiment of a base plate 2 for a blocking slide unit of a feed and sorting device.
- Base plate 2 comprises first through-openings 9 and receiving portions 3 for the first blocking fingers 1 ( FIG. 2 ).
- the receiving portions 3 for blocking fingers 1 pass all the way through base plate 2 .
- Receiving portions 3 for blocking fingers can, for example, be cut from base plate 2 by a laser cutting installation at the same time that the first through-openings 9 are cut. It is advantageous for receiving portions 3 for blocking fingers 1 to include a narrowed section at the end where blocking fingers 1 connect to first through-opening 9 . It is preferable, as shown in FIG. 1 , for a plurality of receiving portions 3 for blocking fingers 1 to be assigned to each first through-opening 9 .
- FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the first exemplary embodiment of a blocking slide unit
- FIG. 3 shows the first exemplary embodiment of the blocking slide unit in the assembled state.
- Base plate 2 is arranged between an upper retaining plate 5 with second through-openings 9 a and a lower retaining plate 4 with third through-openings 9 b in such a way that blocking fingers 1 are secured in receiving portions 3 of base plate 2 , wherein both the second through-openings 9 a and also the third through-openings 9 b are aligned with the first through-openings 9 .
- FIG. 4 shows a base plate 2 with blocking fingers 1 according to a second exemplary embodiment in the locked-together state with a lower (not shown) and upper retaining plate 5 , wherein the components which are the same as those of the first exemplary embodiment are designated by the same reference numbers. For a detailed description of them, reference is made to the descriptive sections pertaining to the first exemplary embodiment.
- Upper retaining plate 5 with its corresponding through-openings 9 a is preferably attached to base plate 2 in the locked state in such a way that through-openings 9 a essentially coincide with through-openings 9 in base plate 2 .
- FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of the fastening device in the locked state
- FIG. 6 shows the device in the released state.
- locking projection 7 which is arranged on base plate 2 and which includes a neck part and a head part, is located in a narrowed section of the locking and release opening 6 in upper retaining plate 5 , so that the head part of locking projection 7 secures upper retaining plate 5 to the base plate 2 .
- the locking projection 7 is located in the widened section of the locking and release opening 6 in upper retaining plate 5 , so that upper retaining plate 5 can be removed from base plate 2 by pulling it over the head part.
- FIG. 6 shows the direction in which locking projection 7 has to be moved in order to secure upper retaining plate 5 to base plate 2 .
- upper retaining plate 5 of FIG. 6 is pushed parallel to base plate 2 in the direction opposite the arrow to secure it in place or parallel to base plate in the direction of the arrow to release it. In this way, upper retaining plate 5 can be detached from base plate 2 and removed without the use of tools.
- FIG. 7 shows a blocking slide unit according to a third exemplary embodiment, wherein the components which are the same as those of the first and second exemplary embodiments are designated by the same reference numbers. For a detailed description of them, reference is made to the corresponding descriptive sections.
- the blocking slide unit according to the third exemplary embodiment includes, instead of base plate 2 , a corresponding lower base plate 2 a with lower through-openings (not shown) and a corresponding upper base plate 2 b with upper through-openings (not shown).
- Lower base plate 2 a and upper base plate 2 b are arranged with respect to each other in the operating state in such a way that in each case a lower through-opening and a corresponding upper through-opening receive an appropriate number of vertically extending filling tubes 10 . Because of their support in guide parts 13 , base plates 2 a, 2 b can be moved with precision in the blocking slide unit.
- FIG. 8 is an enlarged perspective view of guide part 13 in a blocking slide unit according to a fourth exemplary embodiment, wherein the components which are the same as those of the first, second, and third exemplary embodiments are designated by the same reference numbers. For a detailed description of them, reference is made to the corresponding descriptive sections.
- guide parts 13 can have different codings both for the connection with upper cover plate 12 and for the connection with lower cover plate 11 and also for the guidance of lower base plate 2 a and of upper base plate 2 b.
- Lower base plate 2 a comprises a first height H 1
- upper base plate 2 b comprises a second height H 2 , wherein the first height H 1 differs from the second height H 2 .
- Upper recess 15 in the upper cover plate and lower recess 14 in the lower cover plate are of different shape. It is possible, for example, for lower recess 14 to extend over the entire height of the lower cover plate, whereas upper recess 15 extends over only a portion of the height of the upper cover plate.
- the width and the length of the recesses can also be different.
- an upper guide projection 17 ( FIG. 9 ), which fits into upper recess 15 , is formed on the top surface of guide part 13
- a lower guide projection 16 ( FIG. 9 ), which fits into lower recess 14 , is formed on the bottom surface of guide part 13 .
- the asymmetry of the lower and upper guide projections ensures that the guide parts will be assembled correctly.
- FIG. 9 shows that the lower guide is designed as lower guide groove 18 a with a width B 1 which accommodates the first height H 1 , and that the upper guide is designed as an upper guide groove 18 b with a width B 2 which accommodates the second height H 2 .
- the asymmetry of the lower and upper guide grooves together with the asymmetry of the lower and upper base plates provides a mechanical way of preventing the base plates from being confused with each other during assembly.
- FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view of a blocking slide unit according to a fifth exemplary embodiment, in which upper base plate 2 b is arranged so that it can be adjusted, wherein the components which are the same as those of the first, second, third, and fourth exemplary embodiments are designated by the same reference numbers. For a detailed description of them, reference is made to the corresponding descriptive sections.
- the end position of upper base plate 2 b is adjustable, so that the tablets in filling tubes 10 can be blocked off in optimal fashion.
- the adjusting distance is preferably continuously variable. This can be accomplished by the use of a motor.
- Upper base plate 2 b is moved by pneumatic cylinder 19 , which comprises a continuous piston rod.
- Stop 20 can be used to set the desired position, wherein the stop can be adjusted by the motor, so that no manual interventions are required.
- the technical features of the exemplary embodiments 1-5 can be combined with each other. It is also possible to replace base plate 2 by a number of partial base plates or to replace the upper base plate 2 b by a number of upper partial base plates and the lower base plate 2 a by a number of lower partial base plates.
