Referring to the accompanying drawings by numerals, I indicates the back section of the corset,; and 2 and 3 the front sections. Associated with the respective'sectionsof the corset body is a vest consisting of sections 4 and 5. Rows of eyelets 6, 1, 8' and 9 are provided' on the respective front sections 2 and 3 and on the respective vest sections 4 and 5. The sections 2 and 3 are provided withv the usual arrangement o f hooks andfeyes I0 for connecting the ylower partpf theiront sections 2. and 3 together, while the upperfpart `is connected by a lacing. Il passing throughthe Various hooks; similar to Patent No.. 1,86v9391, The section 4 is provided 5 with eyes vI2 oflany Wellfknown kind, the same being adapted to accommodate hooks I31when thegarmentvis in use; Above the eyes iare arranged studs I4y adapted to interlock with` fittings` I5,the.stuils I4 and fittings-I5 being of any well--A known kind; x wf -.i l V,
When the corset is '.firstput` on itisy passed around the back-of the person and. then the hooks andeyes I3 and IZareengaged, after which the studs YI4 and fittings I5are engaged; '.Whenthis 15 has `been done, the front sectionsiof thebody of the corset are brought around,- to theiront and thehooks and eyes II1areinterlocked,.such hooks rtothe conditions?l AsiIIuStratedmore clearly in Fig. 4,l the -laeingsISand I1 pa's's* through vsuitable eyes -in'the respective front'sections or vthe corset body and the vest Ysectionsand then vthrough eyes vI andV I9,`sai`d' eyes being carried by'the back or' ingfthezlacingsoas, for instancejthe'flacing SIE, thesection il is'laidover against the'back section I and then theiacing is placed inA position;v It
'willjbe noted* from'the `right-l'iand side of 'Figir 2,
that t'hejla'oi'ng is :positioned inthe ordinary manner of cross-laoinggfbut that thercrossed'potions pass; ea'ch other within the j VariOuS yeyes `I 8'. In this wayea'ch'of lthe laoings. "I 6 and VI1 is positioned to pass through "the eyesatithe vpoint of crossing. Byreason of thisstructure, when the corset is rst put onand the forwardedgesr and23 aredrawn ous fastening means, the lacings will slide through the eyes I8 and I9 and permit an easy engagement of the Various fastening means on thevest'.
When the sections 2 and 3 are folded over '5'0 on top of the vest, they are pulled into positionv to interlock the hooks and eyes I0 and to cause' the lacing I I to be positioned as shown in Fig'. 1.v As the front edges 24 and 25 of the sections 2 and 3 are pulled toward each other, the lacings 55 I 6 and I 'I will be pulled in a reverse through the eyes I8 and I9.
After theV corset has been properly positioned on the body of the wearer, as illustrated in Fig. l, the lacings I6 and I'I will still function to produce an adjusting of the parts'and also a reducing action as the pressure is distributed throughoutv the garment. It will be noted that therev is ,a single lacing connecting the inside portionv orsection 4' with the outside portion or section 2 for the full length of these se'cf:
direction tions, and this connection also connects these ,Q two sections with the rear or back section I -of -1 the corset body. The reducingff adjustment comes principally when thelwearervhooks theout y y A Vvest structure, and means for connecting the side front portions of the garment after fitgis on; also the arrangement of. the lacings I6 and,
I1 passing twice through eacheyegor havingfthe center passing through the eye, acts, inga. cer-4 H tain sense, as a'.1ever for the'adjustment.
As shown in Figs. 5 and 6, there is provided a strip 26 which is of comparatively heavy fabric,
' and' to this stripthe v'various'eyesfIB are secured.v
v lev Eacho-f these eyes has a'fstraight section 21,
roundedat 28 and 29, with a comparativelylarg'e bend, said rounded portions merging into 4legs 30 and 3I, which in turn haveloops 32 and `33 for accommodating?. the eyelet members 34 and 35, which members are preferablyconnected together by a connecting sectioniSB, whereby the eyelet members with the connecting section form one' integral structure. .It will be evidentlthatv the eyes I8 are identical withn the eyes I9 and that .a description thereof will. apply equally vto eyes I9 and associated parts.r The strip 26 With the .various eyes isplaced'in the loop or hem 31.
` of the. back |,1and4 is secured in place by the various lines of stitching 38, as shown in Fig. 7. This fprovides. a very desirable anchorage `for the. strip,.and the eyes so .that a continuous vor intermittent'pull thereon bythe. lacings4 will not injure the backj sectionr I butwill permit aldistributionof thestrain.w w.
In forming the back section I, it will bel observed. that there. arexprovided elastic ,inserts 39. .andi 40 at the .top and. bottom, and.. elastic panels vlIland 42at the bottom,;the panelsl` and142 being connected to thewrespective edges IISv and 44, butnotto the edges 4,5andrr46- |lhe end ci Vpanel A4I. opposite edge.
