In a combing machine for preparing textile fibers for spinning, having drawing-off means according to the foregoing example, the possibility of the band being hacked or torn by flapping or running loosely at its edges and consequently being caught by parts of a machine is advantageously removed, thereby obviating the necessity for cutting out hacked or torn edge portions of the bands, and securing material lengthening of the useful life of the bands,
I claim:
1. Means for drawing oif slivers and for like operations in a wide combing machine, comprising, in combination, a fusiform driving roller, a co-operating idler roller, and a flexible band passing about said driving roller and between said driving and idler rollers, said band being bellied in manufacture from its edges to its middle in conformity with the varying diameters of the driving roller.

Means for drawing off slivers and for like operations in a wide combing machine, comprising, in combination, a fusiform driving roller, a co-operating idler roller, and an endlessly moulded rubber band passing about said driving roller and between said driving and idler rollers, said band being bellied in manufacture from its edges to its middle in conformity with the varying diameters of the driving roller.
