TOILET BRUSH CONTAINER Filed April 27, 1946 I m/eulor -ET.HELMHE5'5'.
F i g z I f ti a Attorney:
Patented Mar. {1949 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE TOILET BRUSH CONTAINER Ethel M. Hess, Brook, Ind.
Application April 27, 1948, Serial No. 665,540
lclalm.
The invention pertains to a toilet brush holder and more specifically has reference to an enclosure for conveniently supporting and concealing a toilet utensil.
' The primary objects of the invention are to provide a container which is particularly adapted to receive and support in readily accessible manner a toilet brush; to provide a means for receiving the drippings from such a brush after use which means may be easily removed without disturbing the brush or its container; and to eflect a concealment of such a brush.
Ancillary objects of the invention are to provide an arrangement according to the foregoing objects which is compact, unobtrusive and inexpensive.
These, together with numerous other objects of the invention which will later become apparent as the following description proceeds, are attained by my device, one embodiment of which has been illustrated by way of example only in the attached drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a side elevation, partly in section, showing a preferred embodiment of the device;
Figure zisatopplanviewofrigure 1;
Figure 3 is a rear elevation, parts being broken awgy, illustrating the manner of using the device; an
Figure 4 is a horizontal sectional view taken substantially upon the line 4-4 of Figure 1.
Referring now specifically to the drawings, the invention which may be fcrmed of various suitable materials, is indicated generally at It, and comprises a circular base I! upon which rises a semi-cylindrical screen or shield [4, having a corresponding semi-circular top It. Across the back end of the upper portion of the-screen II, and depending from the top It is a strip I! which serves to reinforce the screen and to support a hook member 20, which as shown in Figure 4 has a rear portion or leg 22 secured to the back of strip l8 while a right angularly disposed extremity 24 extends rearwardly through the strip. The portion 24 provides a support for detachably receiving an eye 20 secured to the handle 28 of a toilet bowl brush 30. The base I! 2 is provided around its exposed circumference with an upstanding rim 32 which retains and encloses a container 34 which receives the drippings from the brush.
From the foregoing explanation, the operation of the device will be apparent. The container i0 is situated in any convenient location, preferably in a bath room, with the screen I4 to the front and concealing the brush 30 hanging thereon, as well as the drip container 34, from view. When the services of the brush 30 are required, the handle 28 may be readily detached from the container. The drip container 34 may be readily removed from the base II, for emptying, without disturbing the rest of the device.
It is to be understood that I do not restrict myself to the exact construction disclosed, but may avail myself of various suitable modifications of the invention falling properly within the scope of the appended claim.
I claim as my invention:
A toilet brush container comprising a semicylindrical screen, a semi-circular top for said screen having its edges conterminous with the 2 upper edges of the screen, a reinforcing member REFERENCES CITED The following references are of record in the file of this patent:
