Figure l, an end view showing the clothes submerged by the rubber ready for operation. F ig. 2, an end view showing the clothes brought to the top of the Water for inspection.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct the outside portion of my machine oblong, square at the ends as seen at A, A, Figs. l, and 2.
B, is a box made airtight on sides and top, the top being furnished with slats made sharp at the upper edge as seen at., Z).
C, is the clothes in process of being rubbed.
D, is the rubber, which rocks on the pivot, E, Fig. l, in the grooves, F, Fig. 2.
I-I Fig. l, is a lever or handle by which the rubber, D, is operative.
I, is a cord which is secured to one side of the out-side box at one end and passed over a notch in the end of the handle and drawn tight over and wound around a screw on the other side of the outside box for the purpose of taking the upper pressure from the hand of the operator.
J, Figs. l, and, 2, represents the water.
Having thus described my improved washing machine what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is* The inside bottom box B, constructed air tight so that when the pressure of the upper' rubber is removed it will ioat and expose the clothes to be handled.
